so far, they seem to be exactly the same, except for shrooming and startboost where bikes get a wheelie, but that might just be a visual effect

I remembered the bike being able to snake better, but watching again it seems like they’re pretty similar

one thing of note: hitboxes; we know from MK7 that a bigger hitbox can be helpful in gaining time when collecting coins, and I would think that karts have a bigger hitbox than bikes (though, you might want a smaller hitbox to avoid items when playing Wi-Fi)

whatever’ll happen I hope that karts will be faster or at least equal, I dislike bikes

Not sure if snaking will be faster. I remember in early MK7 videos there were also people snaking which looked pretty fast but it turned out to be slower.

In MK7, SSMTs were slower in the beginning because people were doing them wrong (alternating quickly between left and right, which greatly increases the distance). It wasn't until later that people figured out the proper way to SSMT.

In MK8, it looks like the MTs last slightly longer, and it also looks like you don't need to turn as sharply to MT, so I have a feeling that quickly alternating will be faster in MK8, but it's too early to know for sure.

So can bikes go tigher because they are smaller if there are walls.

No, if it's identical any time lost w/ a bike by not hanging off the course will be recovered w/ overexcessive wheelies.

So for some corners they may be not that good. When you got outward drifting you have more time to load it and eventually get a stronger boost...

I'm not sure about the reliability of this, but I've heard that bike wheelies can only be done when you shroom... Also, comparing both vids, it seems like it's easier to snake with karts than with bikes... so kart might overall be faster (for once!!! )

It has been confirmed wheelies aren't possible in the demo (the one that thousands of people could play at Best Buy during E3 events). Nothing was said about wheelies in the final game.

No inward-drifting bikes in the E3 demo, which obviously doesn't mean much as they are probably standard bikes and the MKWii standard bikes were outward-drifting. Nothing was said about their presence in the final game.

Am I the only one who would like to see inward-drifting KARTS, as odd as the idea may seem?
Also completely unrelated but Blue shells might have “something new”.

Yeah so it seems it's no more than a mere animation, since even when Mario hits Peach it doesn't interrupt his wheelie.

If that's the case it could play really nicely, I really really dislike the overly outwards drift they used in MKW/MK7.
