There's a pretty obvious counter argument to me for both of yours.
Knowing Marv pretty well I would say he's definitely not going to make himself out to be anything close to arrogant. I think he thinks Mick will be champ as well, however I don't think he wanted to mention his thoughts on his own position
As for Alexony's post, you can read it 2 different ways. You can simply read it like you did, or you can look at all the posts before his that are trashing the game (like holy shit people give it a chance), and then read his post. He most likely posted 'Looks Fine to Me' simply because everyone else was already talking bad about it and he was pointing out that nothing was wrong with it.
Anyway I kind of feel Mick will take it if he really tries hard on it like with MK7, or you possibly or if Mick isn't putting in absolute beat effort early on. However I think there's a large chance of it being someone else then the main options.
