Well, if you think about it, it isn't that dumb... because some people will only play nonSC and won't even bother playing SC. They shouldn't be disadvantaged compared to those who've sent their times for both charts. Some people don't like SCs. We can't do anything about it.

No, only one counts towards the rankings. The one you are ranked higher in (or the one you are in, if you choose not to play a category) is the one that counts.

Some SC and glitches suck like many of the ones in mkw. I'm a bit surprised to see so strong support for this though lol.

But I guess it's fine as long as it is indeed seperate charts.

Inb4 less SCs than mkdd has and we get two identical leaderboards.

^Yeah, MK7 PP did just as bad as the MKW PP did in separate charts, just in the opposite way. The fact that there are none is pretty stupid and degrades the credibility of the site.

Only those who get hung up on the arbitrarily decided combined ranks give a shit about this stuff.  Giving preference over one section or banning it all together does nothing but hurt competition.  For a place supposedly dedicated to time trials, not sure why people still feel the need to suppress how others play.  That's why I pushed so hard to get prb integrated since the fastest known times had no home for over 2 years.

Like Lars said, the shortcuts have to be discovered first but tracking both sets is a no-brainer.

The combined ranks were originally AF non-sc for smk+mk64+mkdd.  Sticking with that tradition, it only seemed logical to include non-prb since prb allows shortcuts.  If we are going to look at how players perform between different games, using a similar set of rules allows for some meaningful comparison.  This simply measures who ranks the best against the most without shortcuts.  I guess mkw is the oddball but if we went back and applied that to mk64 that would radically alter some scores.

There are actually more full prb time sets than non-prb, food for thought.

No, if a player submits prb times I mention their prb rank and vice versa.  If there are submissions for both I list both.  It makes zero sense to mention their rank where there was no activity.  Had you been reading the news there this should be painfully obvious.
