This is not exacly the right topic to talk about it, but it's been three years since I hit the final NTSC PR that virtually made me pass Karel for the #1 spot – and become double #1 (PAL + NTSC) at the same time. Of course, that had been made official only on the March 31 update, but even if Karel officially passes me this week, it will not be an official statement before next April 3. So, I guess I can tell I have been officially double Time Trial Champion for three consecutive years, and I wish a lot of luck to anyone intending to beat what I believe to be a record there (Karel and Kartie are the two only other players who hit #1 on both systems at the same time, but never lasted that long simultaneously, if I'm correct).

I have a lot of respect for your collective timesheet and especially for some of the crazy hard 5-laps you have performed (e.g. GV2 & BC2 NTSC and PAL are leaps ahead of the competition and will probably remain so for a while). I don't exactly remember when I wrote this but I'm pretty sure my life was very different back in time and I had no idea how much I would care about other stuff the way I do nowadays. I don't want to look like a liar or someone unable to keep the promises he made, but I don't see any good reason for me to fight again. I would lose much, much more than I would win (if it turns out that I win something, actually).

It's indeed a great achievement. Smiley

As far as I'm concerned I never managed (yet) to keep a WR for a year, so being #1 overall PAL and NTSC for 3 consecutive years is no less than a huge performance (not yet over

I have had the overconfident idea to try and beat or at least tie it many times and just as many times I couldn't even beat 11"70. The most recent attempts were less than a month ago.

It's really long ago, but if I remember correctly my (parent's Tongue

) PC was broken for a few weeks and I was waiting for a new one. And cellphone filming wasn't a thing yet either. In hindsight it really, really sucks. Back then I had no idea it would become the longest standing WR of course, though I knew it was an outlier of a lap (my former best being 11"70). Lips Sealed

What shall we decide for the WR evolution site regarding the implementation of the CI1 wallhop and NPBT strategies people?

There are 2 options:

-Retrospective approach: Times that were set when the strats were still 'banned' are retrospectively archived and count from the moment they were set. E.g. Guillaume set a sub 10 CI1 lap with the wall SC strat in 2014 and now that time will count as a WR since that date: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zywL_nf_eSc

-Rule change approach: Times using the previously banned strategies will start counting from the moment the rule change was implemented, so as of today pretty much. So for the above example with Guillaume's lap, the date would be put on 24-7-2017

Of course intuitively the first option seems to make the most sense, but keep in mind that we would lose (at least for some charts) the historical perspective of what were the Players' Site WRs for long periods of time. The 55"20 on PAL 5-lap might actually be never a WR (or very shortly so) eventhough right now it's the longest standing PAL WR. I say that because I think Neo got an SC time of low 55 many years ago, but I don't reemember any details.

Anyway, help me make the call, I don't want to fly solo on this one of course.

Difficult decision to be made there:
I would go with keeping the whole historical of times (so more option two), but if somehow we can implement a comment or whatever to inform when the time was actually driven it would be nice

btw, MC3 NPBT historical was 17"01 / 16"90 / 16"89 / 16"86 (and can go 16"7x)
CI1 10"51 / 10"49 & 55"02 / 54"30 (low 53" doable, prolly 52" with wallride, 10"3x might not be reachable on the flap)

As for MC3 NTSC pretty much every improvement was on twitter Roll Eyes

I deny everything when it's about that WR – this said, I was pretty confident it could be the very last one of mine that could never be beaten, I'm now completely certain it will never be with that strat, since absolutely nobody will have good reasons to give it a try. Smiley

About the NTSC 5-lap, here are the complete informations for the history:

5-lap was lowered to 51"41 on 05-22-2015, then 51"31 on 05-23-2015, and finally 51"24 on 05-24-2015.
For the f-lap I hit two WRs ont he same day: first 9"91, then 9"89 on 10-30-2014 (so the "2014-12-14" date on the Players Page is not good)
