Question for the MK PPs historians & archivists

Did a quintuple WR tie (or even more) ever happen? If so, what WR was it and who were the holders?

The feeling of being a world champion is intoxicating, and I didn't want to ever not be the world champion again. Then I realized it didn't matter that much since I had nothing more to prove and achieved my most important goal(s).

Wasn't there one on MK64 KTB flap a few years ago? (Might have been a quadruple only.)

I'm fairly certain that around 5 people or so had a tie in MK64 on Frappe Snowland shortcut FLap (using the old strat). It was either 00'05"47 or 00'05"44.

It goes (from hardest to easiest): NTSC -> Gallo NTSC -> Australian PAL -> English/Irish PAL -> Dutch PAL. Everyone knows that.

As Etch and Jonesy said it's probably happened before, but on a very simple flap that is relatively (sometimes really) easy to max. A lot of the MKSC SCs often give 0"03 or something like that (never played it but seen lots of vids), and the old FS SC flap was just drive out of bounds -> shroomslide to the finish.

Mario made this topic because he just became the 4th person to get a VL1 PAL NBT flap WR at 9"57, although Sami hasn't added it yet. Maybe this could become the first quintuple WR tie ever, but who knows. DKJP non-SC flap was quadruple tied until VAJ broke it recently, and about six years ago Karel missed a quintuple tie on GV2 flap and beat the WR by "01. Who would be the fifth person to hit 9"57 on VL1 anyway...

According to this page there was a 5-way tie at 26.27: http://www.mariokart64.com/kart64/members/10interesting.html

I'm not sure but I think it was in 1999.
