Are Hero & Titan times easier to acquire in 'DD than in the other games you've played? I mean, sure, you only have to pass 4 Hero ranks to get a Titan instead of 5, but I watch 'DD runs on utube a lot and they basically look the same at the top.

...course, I thought the same about 'DS runs before I broke Exp. overall there, and I'm only Adv. D on 'DD.

Well, the difference to the other karts in DD is, that a single missed MT can make you lose almost 0.25 seconds, which is absolutely destroying every run! As for the standards, I find DD easier than the others, because, if you hit a wall, you won't full stop directly when you don't hit it frontal. More chances to recover from such a hit

also, with A-Tech (if you learn it) some standards, like Baby Park, are very easy to gain. Many TOP Players already had GOD here when they were low ranked. Kouider for example had a GOD flap when he was Expert overall Smiley

As for A-tech, I get how it works, I get exactly what to do, and I even know how to pull decent strats because of it, but my hands don't comprehend the concept of letting go of the accelerator in a Time Trial. Roll Eyes

My tests so far showed me a relatively instable framerate, though it doesn't seem to be a huge problem for the viewers. I'd like to try to improve it though for next time.

Oh, and I got a new PR : 1'34"103 (31"3xx / 30"4xx / 32"3xx)

First lap is terrible, I have already done a 30"5 opener with mistakes. Last lap is best split, but is most definitely improvable by several tenths.

1'33 is pretty much granted, but we're looking at a possible 1'32 future time here. Thing is my consistency is still really bad on this particular track : can't deal really well with the sand slowdowns, the shrooms and the pokeys.

Still having fun so I'll push harder Smiley

Edit : Got 1'34"196 / 29"402 this afternoon, encouraging. Not only did I get quickly to my ghost level, but I finished more runs than usual, even though I miss a lot of mt's right now. I even failed a couple of 1:33 near the end of lap 3. Gonna play more tonight.

Edit 2 : Streaming again for a bunch of hours.

Couldn't improve on DDD, so I'm playing Peach Beach for the change. Already got within 0.1 of my PR with a shitty shroomer opener.

I am a bit soured by all those 3lap attempts. I probably failed the sub 1:10 on the last straight in one of my runs. However, by trying hard enough, I was able to crack the top 100 on the flap and hit my first Titan B, after getting my first Titan C a few days ago !

MB PRs were not streamed because I lost my cam at the time I played, found it back later on though. Anyway all my 3lap attempts were baaaaad... but at least I have no more 60Hz times outside the top 100 !

Now very close to the top 100 overall, it might happen tonight or tomorrow. 1'20"xxx / 26"1xx would likely be enough.

I will very likely stop streaming once I get the sub 3'00. I will have achieved my goal of top 100 overall by then (actually I'm exactly 1/32 AF pt from #100 so it should happened with any improvement). That's because in the future I'd like to make videos of my PR's with higher quality (as in no frame drops).

Congrats on the top 100 man! You really have blown some of my times out of the water, and unfortunately my Wii can't read discs/my controller is broken so I can't shoot for them myself Tongue

When I get both problems fixed I can't wait to play some DD for the first time in ages. I haven't even touched 6 (?) tracks yet, including RR so I have no clue how hard it was to sub 3'00. Kinda surprised that RR was your first 3lap Titan btw; I managed to go well past TD on MB 3lap without A-Tech.

But then again that's one of my best tracks, the flap is Titan+ and also without A-Tech. I bet you could hit some flaps at least as good as my MB, if not better Smiley

Thanks ! I already have a Titan on the flap of MB and I'm satisfied with that. I'm close on the 3lap as well but I fear it could take too much time with my current skill so I'll keep it for later.

Definitely. I want to consolidate a stop in the top 100 so I could stay in there for years, unlike with MK64 or MKDS when I had to stop shortly after reaching the top 100.
With all those Titan times I achieved recently, it look way doable to get to Titan D in ARR by the end of this year, or early next year. I already have all Titan flaps on the Mushroom Cup + MB, so I'll try to get 16/16 Titan flaps (although WS flap will prove difficult undoubtfuly).
Titan overall also coincidate with top 50 AF on 60Hz so that's a very good landmark !

For now I'll try to get the Titan flap on RR. I'm only one tenth away, maybe I could push it to sub 59 with an extra mt near the end.
