There are a few players that are quite close but I don't think they have played CM recently:
Coconut Mall no glitch
1. 01:56.821 | Jascha
2. 01:56.895 | Chaos
3. 01:56.930 | Sword
4. 01:56.960 | Nagisa
Jascha: WR Holder. Dunno if he still plays the game. Only plays when under threat (which he isn't)
Chaos: Quit the game. Doesn't play any MKWii. His brother Nick does from time to time, though.
Nagisa: Plays but has been working on other courses (TF / BC / rBC)
And myself, but I don't have the motivation for it. I'm probably the only one who could viably go for it to take it down, but the course is too much of a heartbreaker.
My run was a WR fail in itself; to get a run of a good standard past Lap 2, only to miss the chain wheelie and stand absolutely no chance is heart-wrenching.
Even if you get the chain, the last lap still has many random points that can completely destroy you.
I assume Nagisa feels the same way as I do, considering how old his time is here.
I have thought about going for it; but of all the courses I play, this definitely has the most "luck" and I find longer sessions intolerable.
The reason being is the banister tricks are far too inconsistent for humans;
The height you get, if you get thrown forward, all depends when you get there, how much air you get on your trick, what trick you get and what part of the wheel hits the banister. It's too much.
I'm glad Jascha hit 1000 here as he clearly deserves it.
CM can be pushed a great deal lower (possibly .250 with no strat change) but his run is tank for how inconsistent the course is.
I don't see his run being beaten for at least a couple more months.
