Day 2 Scores

No major upset happened which means much better scores this time around. Two-third of the players predicted correctly the 4 qualifiers of today and half of them scored the maximum 6 points.

Unexpectedly, none of the 4 players sharing the 1st place actually did perfect. While Tom, Timur and Rob did well enough with 5 points to keep their rank, Stacy dropped into the second half of the global rankings, with only 3 points scored this day, and now standing at 15th.

Moll and Thingy left the very bottom of the rankings thanks to a perfect 6-score, and are now tied with Stacy and Lafungo. It is know Zarkov standing alone in the last place, as the host of the KC2012 has yet to grab more than 1 pt in a match, which even the Fank himself, right above him at 26th, managed to !

Since 11 players are tied at 4th and only 1 pt away from the top 3, the rankings could be considerably shaked, were any upset happening the next day. But this is only the very beginning...

Day 3 Scores

The match 5 with the finalists of KC 2k8 and KC 2k10 was going to be very predictable. Most of the players scored 3 pts in this one. Match 6 however was more undecided and many players did not see Stacy going through his group, let alone take the win !

Only our Champion Ninja did see right and scored the max 6 pts to take the lead of the contest with 14 pts, tied with Zwiebel who did again a great prediction with 5 pts. 3rd place is shared between Mick, Honko, Andrew K and Mario86 with 13 pts, who also scored 5 pts for that day.

Tom and Robman dropped off the podium with a relatively poor score of 3 pts but still remain in the top 10 with 12 pts.

Zarkov couldn't bring his total score to the double-digit yet, but 4 pts was enough to push Fank into the last place (with 7 pts). Now to climb up the ranks !

Day 4 Scores

Easy points to grab today : everyone has, at last, a double digit score, after 8 matchs !

Our three winners of today are theDOC, Etch and MVT who got all the 6 pts awarded. The former escaped the red zone while, and the other two are now both tied for the 3rd place.

Great hold for Zwiebel who stays at the very top 4 days in a row with a solid 5-pt score, alongside Jonesy who did just as well. They both totalise 19 pts currently. Still a four-way tie for the bronze, but Etch and MVT replaced Andrew K and Mick, who dropped to 7th and 12th respectively.

The bottom 3 remains unchanged, although Fank managed to catch up to Zarkov and padz with (finally !) a correct 3-pt prediction for the 7th match.

In the middle of the pack, the total scores are starting to spread out. The largest tie now includes "only" 5 people, instead of 8 for yesterday.

Day 5 Scores

Noticeable upset in match 9 as Shock surpassed in the group stage one of the favorites of this contest, Honko. Furthermore, the few who saw in Andy a great potential to win his match also all thought padz would qualify for the round... except Robman, who is therefore the only one to score a perfect today !

The match 10 actually did more damage to the scores, as our predictors couldn't really tell who could go through. Half of them only got 1 point for this specific group. No empty score of shame, at least, but lots of movement especially in the middle-top section of the chart.

Under those circumstances Zwiebel is still rockin' solid and finally take the 1st place only for himself with 24 pts. Right behind him are 4 players tied in 2nd place (Jonesy, Etch, Honko and Robman) but can they still hope to threaten him during this phase ?

8 other people have now a score in the twenties and could still get into the podium eventually, but everyone below will now need near perfect predictions to still stand a chance in the group stage. It's almost over for the bottom-four at this point, in which padz, the now 27th and last, is over 10 pts behind Zwiebel.

Everything can happen in the bracket stage though, and I will come back to it in a few hours in an incoming announcement !

MUST READ IF YOU WISH TO PURSUE THE PREDICTION CONTEST

The bracket stage of the prediction contest will start Sunday evening (Sept. 16th) around 10pm GMT - 6pm EDT, precisely when the results of the 15th and 16th matches of Round 1 are announced.

The period during which you'll be able to send your predictions will only last 48 HOURS.
So be sure to be around the board near the 16th-17th to be ready to send a submission by PM.

You can already start to speculate on some of the early matches of the bracket stages by yourself, as the round 2 matches will be determined by the following scheme :

1st of group 1 - VS - 2nd of group 16
1st of group 2 - VS - 2nd of group 15
[...]
1st of group 15 - VS - 2nd of group 2
1st of group 16 - VS - 2nd of group 1

Rules will be updated in the first post if you want to check the conditions and what I expect for the PMs, but we shouldn't have as much trouble as in the group stage

I'm assuming you have to predict the entire 32 man bracket up front. If that's the case, you usually get more points for correctly predicting for later rounds because your odds of correctly predicting results decreases with each round. For each round of 32 match you have a 50/50 shot at a correct prediction. Predicting a winner on the other hand is more or less 1/32 - hence more points.

... hmmm... i was wondering if maybe consolation points for picking on the right side of the bracket further on... but you might as well take in new preds each round, though that might be more work for you, Though... i think the format you have is right, though the distribution of points imo is a bit... lob sided... finals and semis should be worth a bit more imo.

(the final example...getting paid 10:1 for a "1/32 shot"...)

Great scores all around yesterday, only 5 players failed to find out the 4 qualifiers.

Perfect scores today includes Zwiebel, who has now a 2-point lead over the competition, but also Fank and Clark who have now left the bottom 3.

Behind the 30 points of Timur, we find a tie for 2nd place between Honko and Jonesy (28 pts) then 3 guys tied for 4th with 27 pts (Robman, Mick and Andrew K).

Etch, who did the poorest score of the day with 2 pts, dropped all the way to 10th overall, but could still come back on the poduim eventually, should his 4 next predictions be spot on.

Arsenic and Stacy are still slowly dropping all the way to the bottom, and are within reach of Spazzup, still last so far with 17pt.

Day 7 Scores

The issue of the match 14 with the extremely close win of Boom3r probably did not please Zwiebel : he lost one point here that direct contender Honko grabbed, reducing the gap between the 1st and 2nd to 1pt again.

Match 13, however, did not see any upset, and many players got 3 points here. This hurts Thingy as he's earning a 0-pt score here, for the second time. Thankfully for him he scores 3 pts the next match and can stay in the middle of the pack.

Overall the top 10 hasn't changed so much. The top 3 remains unchanged, with Jonesy hanging in the 3rd place, and a trio (Brett, Andrew and Mick) in 4th place, with 32pts. The battle between those six should be interesting as they all have a different set of predictions for the last 2 matches !

Etch who was on the podium 2 days ago, has now dropped in the second half of the chart at 16th with another poor 2-pt score, while Zarkov and padz are gaining momentum, the latter leaving the last place. Stacy (who was 1st at the start of this contest !) is now ranked at this 27th place, tied with Arsenic, with 21 pts.
