Once I get a clean run it should last until or past that.

The game should have at least 1 or 1,5 years of activity to secure we have at least found out all basic strategies.
RRM will sub 2'00 before 2013, it would not surprise me if it even subs 1'59 somewhere until 2015.
Apart from that I'm sure there will be some newer strategies in the next years which boost the times even lower.

Also I agree, standards shouldn't be made before at least 1 year has passed.

People can make "Self-Made-Standards" on the forums for fun and look how fast they'll get beaten, if some people need that to be motivated. But "Real" standards need their time, as Web said.

Edit: And unlike getting your standard lowered, i'm sure people would welcome their standard being strengthened if it proves to actually be really hard in the future. Technically, the action of improving some titles names may be the same as making others worse, but I think the psychological effect will be different

It does look awful having the default Newbie Standard there for so long.
I haven't been at the pp for the start of any other game, was it the same for Mkwii, as Newbie standard for 2 years?
I very much like the idea of holding back God, Myth and Titan/Legend, but even so I still think no standards should be introduced just yet, or at most maybe not separate the standards from A-D/E, just leave them as one whole big chunk of times, so passing into the next standard is a much more significant step to strive for.

I agree though, maybe Myth, Titan, Expert, Advanced, Intermediate and Newbie should be added round about halfway through this year and gradually add more.

Why not making "prelim standards" and making proper ones in 2014 when tons of new strats will be released?
This would satisfy most ppl for now and if everyone knows that there are gonna be new standards in 2014 ppl won't complain about losing their "standards rank" because nobody ever said that they are gonna be remade because they might be too weak for the future.
For now times like 1:19 TC 1:59 RRM 1:37 RR 1:36 MG seem to be great GODs but we might think differently in the future due to new strats or maybe even major discoveries that make those times laughable weak for the better players.
And we NEVER should think the gods are too strong because everyone can see what happened to the previous games some of the GODS are destroyed by nearly 2 seconds in MKW even without glitches which is definitly not as it should be.

When will standards be up?
