Called it!
Here's a start...
This one particular technique is debatably faster at this spot on RRM, but if performed better has serious potential. I've gotten bounces like this before but never ones where I actually kept the glide after bouncing upwards. I can think of a ton of other places on different tracks where this would be substantially faster...(like dk jungle at the last turn end of the lap to jump the whole gap for example, etc). By the way this is extremely hard to perform and I can't replicate it.
EDIT - Also for those skeptics out there, this is not just a glider bounce where you hit the ground and gain air again. In this video I actually get the landing
boost and sound effect and then go back up into the air and am pushed forward at a high speed. Without sound it is harder to tell, but you can still see the air speed increase in the video. To get this I had the glider at a strange angle coming into the ground then hopped at the perfect frame as the kart back wheels hit the ground then and maybe aimed very slightly up again (I guess, hard to recollect my exact inputs). I could not replicate this, and it surely is faster everywhere in the game, especially if done with a nice approach and a bigger boost and bounce may be possible who knows.
