Loool, and everyone said I was a fool when I said that they couldn't possibly patch the game via wi-fi.
Their "patch" as described in that quote is to simply fix games that haven't been bought yet, which would lose them a lot of money.
I find it funny how they only mentioned one shortcut, not the several that have been found (although admittedly only one is game-breaking so that noobs can gain an almost uncatchable lead).

At least they admitted it though, I wasn't around near the start of mkwii, but I don't remember anyone ever mentioning that Nintendo admitted the glitches on GV and MG (the first two).

Actually thinking about it, considering they say 'it would give people with newer consoles an unfair advantage', this makes it sound like that in a way, they don't mind people doing it Shocked

Anyway, the idea to do the glitch in ww and no-glitch in community still works well I guess.

You just do what Microsoft does and make a mandatory patch. When you connect to the internet, you have to download the patch or you are disconnected. It shouldn't matter if you have a new or old cart.

Am I the only one thinking that the guy answering the question might just be stupid and not realise that people are concerned about patching and not updating later releases?

At no point does he actually say that it wouldn't be possible to patch, so it probably never even passed his mind. (Edit: Which seems really silly too, as if he thought everyone asking about this actually didn't own the game yet OR were willing to buy a new game just to get rid of the glitch)

Still don't see how patching shouldn't be possible when DLC is.

i dont think nintendo have ever patched it.

The main problem with patching this would be for WR's etc.

Imagine someone who hasn't played online who has a time much better than their friend who has been online and has a patched version. What happens if they try to play local play and one can do it and one can't do the sc?

Its not so clear cut.

It's clear Nintendo just can't be bothered to waste time when it probably won't affect sales. A mandatory download seems like such a simple fix, a shame they won't do it.

I never said they would definitely patch it and my last 50 posts shows that. I said in IRC before that Nintendo does have the ability to patch games with the handheld.
