Surprisingly my best splits: 33"5xx, 32"8xx, 32"2 add up to a mid 1"38 although my record is hell of a 1"41xxx.... BUT I am so fucking shit at the shortcut and I seem to not manage to reproduce the shortcut correctly 3/3. Any fucking idiot/pro tipps? :'( :'( :'(

I could pull off the turning early strategy easier, as follows:

After being in glider for a bit, shroom Before tilting upwards, and after a small amount of time start turning left while still upwards, then fully left (should be at a decent height above track to be able to tilt downwards and not fall off), then slightly downwards while still left, before starting to drift (to make one (quicker) or two (slower) MTs afterwards) just before hitting the ground. You should lose some speed when juuust making it onto the track because otherwise you'll zoom into the grass on the righthand side.

From watching Sora's later vid, they wait longer before tilting, so that they don't have to slow when drifting out of the glider because they are at a closer angle to the main straight, and I tried this but couldn't pull it off - couldn't get high enough so almost always fell.

Can't find any better explanation. And it helped me A LOT so it should help you too.

I had the same problem and was stranded at 1'46" - 1'47".

Then i figured out a great strategy that kinda solved the problem and i got 1'44.

It basically involves ignoring that floating in the air wqhich never works thing and drive on shrooming round the hairpin grass. Easy effective, less stressful Smiley

Problem now is i wont be able to improve a lot more Undecided

I know what you mean, tried it, much more dangerous to me, and when you manage to do it properly it's about "4 slower than when you try the quoted strat that you succeed it but with a lot of mistakes. So it should be about... "6 faster...
Don't ask me why though. MK physics for the win...

Yeah, I did this at first, ignoring the glider cut in favour of this shroomspot and quickly got 1:43 (which is easily beatable, shadow beat it with a 1:42.9 after I jokily criticised him on the chat a few weeks ago Tongue

), but once I got pushed back to ~#30 I forced myself to learn it in order to cut AF.

I seem to remember getting a lot of .5xx, and possibly a .4xx, not sure, but then my lap 2 and 3 always sucked in comparison to Sora, which I think was because he took a slower glider cut to maintain greater speed for entry into the next lap.
