IMO it does make sense. We have to at least acknowledge his time on the site as (as many people have said) he was undisputably the site champion with a proven timesheet (nobody is denying this Tom, this isn't an issue about times, its about trust). However because the awards themselves are synced with the database, they can't be kept on the site if he is removed. Simplest solution is to credit him on the past champions page as that is not synced with the database.

i just looked into here after seeing fenner wants to be removed.... i dunno whats wrong here  dont have much infos  but some things i have something to say:

-  MK64 community forgives cheat0rz more "easy" `?  -----wtf  is that shit....

-  wasnt fenner eyewittnessed by u guys ? what about the other geman champ Stellmacher,  who did eyewittnessed him ???

- lots of players are no member of this boards.... so they have no idea what was going on....they only care about the rankings..


- who got the idea to get this decided by a VOTING....this is ridiculus and open gates for all the haters....

-  i saw couple of fenners MKSC vids.... imo they were all legit,  so for me (and hope for others too) it is ridiculus to remove the MKSC Champ just because some haters have issues from years ago...

-  that all other Mario Kart times from fenner are removed too is a very bad thing too,  this make the hole Players Page Rankings  less representive....

Just like all of the great points people including myself made in the Terrence topic that was stickied last month.  So many of those points were never even debated or rebutted.  But what happened?  The topic was locked and then a separate vote was held.  Unbelievably April writes in her post, that none of the opinions in the pages upon pages of posts made in the Terrence topic would be considered!  What a coincidence that most of those posts were very pro-Fenner, and the poll included in that thread overwhelmingly favored Fenner to be left alone on the players page.

Edit: I posted this before seeing the thread in General, but am leaving this as-is. If Fenner wants to try to establish trust and come back in a year, he is still more than welcome to.

^Yea. Feel free to speak your mind, but certain things (like accusing someone of being racist without any known basis) cross the line. MVT: Your video post directed toward Mario86 will be deleted here shortly because of that. You can express your point without calling someone racist (directly or indirectly).

Not only would I have had to go through that entire thread, I would have had to go through years worth of Fenner topics, which would have taken a long time and likely would have just been confusing. When I posted with my vote instructions, I told everyone to reiterate their point, be it through copy/paste or just rewriting it. Just wish to share a few elements of my opinion here, even if I read only bits of posts.
I am getting quite rare on the boards here, but some important points need my contribution.

About Terrence, I must admit I have had doubts, and still have maybe...
The fact is that I don't care too much about doubtful times from others, because what I am looking for in first instance when I am PRing is to improve my skills and surpass my limits (or at least reach it).
If people enjoy cheating then maybe they need to look at their own face in a mirror.
Such bad behaviour is not part of my philosophy. Plus where the hell is the point of cheating in a non lucrative GAME??? (and most of all in a non lucrative site), I can't see any clue in any normal situation... (of course I hate even more cheaters when there is a lucrative point).

Considering that, I would say that I am happy to have been able to travel and meet several players, I have a few people that I totally trust (mario and KVD being in my eyes ones of the most trustable people I have ever met in this community) and that I can compete and compare my times with, and it's already very good for me. On the other side, I feel it's a kind of fairness to share the times on the web, so that everyone in the world can compete with everybody. So I admit I was quite disapointed to see the decision of mario/KVD... because it's a big miss not to have these great players in the rankings. I can understand their point of view, and of course we have to respect that, because it's their entire choice to get their times on the site or not.

The fact here with Terrence is that forgiveness is possible (I am the perfect exemple of it because in my life I could forgive totally a person that I was hating at a point, the fact is that we were both missing details, and when you know all the circunstances, forgiveness is possible), so of course we can forgive Terrence about what he did. But to forgive the past doesn't mean to trust the present if it's dealing with doubts.

seems that the true, proven, mksc world champion will now never be recognised.

Now that I'm convinced Fenner will not be allowed again on the MKSC site, I'd like my PRs to be displayed again on the players' page — assuming you still have them somewhere, otherwise I'll submit all of them again.

I wonder if those players would've still taken their times off if the rule was that once you remove your times they would never be reinstated.

That's a rather pointless question since such a ruling would never be accepted, as there is no logical basis for banning as a consequence of voluntary removal. But if you're looking for an answer to the question, the answer would be a resounding yes.
