Current votes:

33 (30.8%) for No.
29 (27.1%) for Not for the main ranking, but have a separate ranking that includes FLaps.  
33 (30.8%) for Yes.

Combining the top 2 options, 62 (57.9%) don't want flaps for the main ranking. And combining the bottom 2 options, 62 (57.9%) want flaps in some form.

I'm making an assumption in the 2nd statement above: that people who voted "Yes" would still want flaps if they are in a separate ranking. I think it's a fairly safe assumption though.

So it seems clear that overall, flaps are not wanted for the main ranking, but they are desired elsewhere. I like the SMK option that MVT brought up... on the site, there could be a "More MK7 Records" section where flaps are kept. That will allow people to compete in flaps if they want, and no one will feel pressure to do flaps since they're in a different section and don't count in the main ranking. The only con I can think of is more work for the admins to create the flap chart and processing flap submissions.

Flaps should not be included period.  I haven't heard one single person make any counterpoint or offer any solution to anything I posted a few pages ago.

I dont even get why we made a poll about it. Should we stop ddoing them just because they're not possible on 3 tracks and they dont get saved?

Anyone who writes down his flaps after every single run is mentally disordered, seriously. There's no reason to play for something which isn't saved by the game automatically.

Also, just look at the wonderful german ranking site and notice how it works there. No flaps, 3laps (1lap) only = no problems. Period.

I think the poll results show pretty clearly that most people don't want flaps in the main chart, at any rate. It's obviously not practical because of proof reasons (lolblack) and the courses with no laps. If people really want them (and the poll results seem to show that a good number do), adding a side chart would be a decent compromise, but it should have no bearing on AF.

Just a quick update. After taking the poll results into consideration and discussing with the other admins, we have decided to remove FLaps from the main rankings. However, those of you still wanting to compete for FLaps we will provide you a separate ranking. The main charts will be "3Lap" only but you can submit your FLap times as well.

I will keep the poll open and we can revisit this at a later date if necessary.
