Standards will and should not come soon.
I believe the standards were left for about a year in mkwii, and even that was way too early.
Even if the standards would be flexible with changes in various courses in the future, the standards should not be set any time soon, as we really don't know anything about the limits of the game yet.

Setting the standards early would only result in inaccuracy. MKWii's standards aren't too bad aside from the fact that they're incomplete, but MKDD's "God+" system is an eyesore, and should be avoided if possible.

Also, I personally don't mind the color of the site, but that's just me. What sort of color would be preferable instead (warm, cool, bright, etc.)?

Something I just noticed: The names of the retro courses just say, "Retro __" instead of "N64 __," "GCN __," etc. I was under the impression that the in-game names included the abbreviations for the original systems, like in MKWii? If so, I don't see why the site shouldn't list them that way as well, since the MKWii site already does list the retro track names with the system abbreviations.
