How to unlock stuff in MK7

Oddly enough that you unlock all the characters in 150cc, and nothing in 50cc, 100cc and Mirror.
Car parts are unlocked exclusively with coins.
The author strongly hint at other content being unlocked, w/o him being allowed to reveal what it is (it's not characters nor karts though, don't get your hopes up). For this we'd have to wait the official release.

In the comments I read there is no vs mode, so offline you have to either do a cup or time trial

I don't want to buy anything thing more than what we have in the game... otherwise many people will get rid of the game, thinking it's bullshit to buy some more stuff on the shop just to make your kart go faster or get new tracks or something... --"

So you can unlock stuff with streetpass

1300 coins, B-Dasher and Red Wheels early on, am a 2star ranked player now.. Golden Wheels are indeed obtained by having at least 1 star in each cup on each class.

Won't be time trialing this game a lot.. Just like it's predecessor, I miss the 'real' MT's like they were in MK64, MKDD and MKDS (Without the speed glitch).. Sigh, where are the good old days xD

Online is fun though, but I might have encountered the first cheater. I fired 3 red shells on some dude blocking with only 1 item.. My red shells were gone, his item still on his backside.. xD Lame mofo.. He got first and then I got disconnected. He was also glitching all over the place, like a real bad lag, he was the only one to whom it occurred though. Hope this isn't gonna ruin the game's online mode a lot.. Seriously agitated right now, not knowing whether it was worth my money.. I want to at least have a good online multi-player exp when the time trials suck..

Where did you hear/read this?
I doubt if it'll make much difference at all except from an aesthetic point of view, as all the other unlockable gliders so far have been identical.
If it is better, I will rage (I have had no streetpass hits yet, unsurprisingly, as I don't make a habit of walking into my town centre with my 3ds in my pocket/bag in sleep mode, and I don't expect many other people do either).

Same. Pretty much only unlocked karts in general. Is BDasher the fastest kart? Played the GPs alone in 150cc, some GPs offline with a friend and TT'd a little on the first track, dont think collecting 5K will take that long. For those who find GP offline boring, you should just practice TTs with an inferior kart then

Edit red wheels are the only wheels i unlocked iirc, lol.
