There technically are "laps" but they're are 3 distinct parts forming the whole course - checkpoints if you will. This will be an interesting twist as im not sure how flap will be recorded by the game.

At least this way, both would be counted effectively. But yea, that would be too hard to keep track of.

if the splits aren’t saved by the game, then it’s down to admins (Penev I guess) to decide how to display the single saved time

I’ve had a discussion with a friend, and he mentioned the fact that a “lap” is a once around a circuit, but in a point-to-point track there is no “lap”… so it could just be considered a total time alone (basically 1 lap = no laps by definition)

But I'm positive there'll be 3 laps times and a final 3lap time.

However im not sure if rr is in 3 sections also, or is it just the wuhu tracks :/

Anyone should have recognized that RR is basically ONE lap. The finish is at the start/finish-line. Therefore RR should have ONE Flap and ONE 3lap (in this case 1lap), because sectors aren't laps...
BigN clearly thought Mario Kart should have sectors like the F1 to be cooler as it already is. Hopefully they didn't mess up the flap timer.

Don't know about the Wuhu tracks though, because they weren't built after that scheme.
