I dont particularily mind much, but I can imagine many others do (since so many hated the MKWII flap system and the MK7 one is worse)

MVT should be banned from MK7 section at least

Well, at least everyone can prove every single time without recording every flap record etc., because all 3laps should be available with the MK7-Channel. (No flaps sucks though  )

• Some courses don't even have laps
• Put in pointless characters
• Removed popular characters from the roster

I actually find coins intriguing, I don't really mind them.

Can't believe they don't have flaps.  I might not even get this now, and I just bought a 3DS a few days ago...

And from what I've seen the time isn't even displayed at all when racing.  Can someone confirm that?

Maybe if the community complained enough about flaps they'll bring them back in a patch or something.

IMO the coins will make it more interesting.. Flaps.. Yeah.. Well.. Not really a big loss.. IMO.. Overrated value.. In a race it's also not about the fastest laps.. Bad for your AF? Only for those that aren't consistent in completing a track. If my 3laps are bad in comparison to my flaps I always assume my skills are bad. If you play a lot of MK7, I'm sure you'll know when you're up to some good or reversed.. Besides, you can still race your ghosts no?

But of course it is a loss. Just not the end of the world, and it does make me feel somewhat relieved not to have to focus on so many different scores again. In mkds there could go so long between just trying a total or flap for a track again - the positive part of this is that you pretty much never hit a wall and would improve your times on tracks you hadn't played in a long time pretty easily, but I prefer having all my times being somewhat near my current level and be able to actually start working on improving my stuff/be slightly challenged pretty quickly instead of just having to set times (or focus on single tracks) for the first few weeks.

Edit: About the coins, I understand the concerns about them in multiplayer more than in time trial, but even then I don't understand why people are instantly dismissing it and finding it to be a bad idea. Especially in this place I am kinda surprised that people are sad about a new way of getting a speed advantage rather than getting overpowered items you throw at people. Like, this is benefitting for the fast players who get to the coins first, and not for all the sandbaggers and shit players. That's what I imagine anyway, i'm kinda curious to see how they will end up affecting the metagame - maybe it will be better. Maybe it will be worse. Or maybe it will be shit. I think it's kinda hard to imagine and needs to be tested before judged.

Reminds me that blue shells might be dodgeable if you have enough coins? Or does the shroom boost overlap the coin boost?

Edit2: Oh, and I would like to complain about nintendo insisting on making characters have their stats instead of just karts. Now THAT is annoying (MNR making stats completely independant of both was quite good. Simple acceleration-speed and drift-handling slider system. There isn't really any reason to combine cosmetic and playstyle decisions in this type of game IMO)

^Also just a minor thing btw, but yeah i'm not just welcoming everything nintendo decides to do with this game, heh.
