I can already see you thinking into entering this topic :
"What is this guy dealing about this time ? I hope it's not a TL;DR post again..." Well... yes, it is indeed. But I SWEAR this one is really interesting !

We're now one month away from the release from the release of the game, and I wanted to talk about a interesting feature that has barely been discussed here (for legitimate reasons).
Communities. It will now be possible to create groups, in which you can play with all the other available members under customised rules and conditions (tracks played, items available, specific karts... exact info to be determined). The acces to a community will be made by entering a unique 14-digit code on the 3DS. We could do our own community so that all the players on this site could be together easily and on whatever ruleset you want !
Now you should be wondering what does all of this wifi stuff pertains to our
time trial community ?
Because there's more than that.
Nintendo, will, in addition to the communities that the developer team will itself create (distributed via SpotPass),
display the top 100 most active communities on the Mario Kart Channel. As one of the most dedicated and hardcore community of Mario Kart players, it makes sense that we do our the best to get into this top 100, if possible very high on it.
It is a new, great and unique opportunity to make our site more widely known. If the players see the name of our PP they could be tempted to check here and join our community (both on this forum and in-game). Maybe we could get some new top players in ther and even some japs !
The more players we'll count on our community, the higher on the top we will be, as a retro-active. Ultimately we could reach a new record in the number of players having times on the PP (1000 players would be a nice barrier to break !).
Another thing is the records (time trial + stats) are shared by all the members on the community, making it easier to spot obvious cheats amongst our group (that shouldn't happen often, but we never know how stupid people can be), be aware faster of new WR's from guys that don't necessary post on the fourm, and of course re-enforce the TT competition.

Now time for the questions I guess :
1 - What do you think of the idea of an official in-game community ? Would you approve ? Would you take part of it if there was one ?
2 - Who should create the community if there was one ? The guy would likely become the "administrator" of the group and have to decide the rules inside the community, so this question could be more important than you think, though a lot is unknown yet as for how this whole system will work.
3 - Which kind of rules would you want which could suit the likes of any player ? I think we all agree about 150cc only, but would you remove any items that may be unbalanced ? Or tracks seen as unfair ? Note that it should be possible to create other communities by ourselves with ridiculous rules for the lolz.
No items. Bowser only. Final Destination Rainbow Road.4 - How would be distribute the community code, assuming it can be kept undisplayed online so that people have to come here to find the code ? I wonder if we should restrict the group to members who have a timeset on the boards and/or have a forum account here. It could become a mess if literally any random person could join the community. I don't know which stance and options to take here.
Also feel free to post our own questions of course.
The community system is still relatively obscure but we will be way better informed about it really soon.
