The basic idea : We gather a group of trusted people (preferably with at least one person per continent/region) who would upload on a common YouTube channel :

- World Records
- Regional Records
- [Optionally] Nintendo tops at a determined rate (depends of the size of said tops...)
- [Optionally] Glitched records

All organised into defined playlists.

This way we won't have all the WRs/ARs/ERs... spread into a dozen of channels. Furthermore we would take away the risk of losing videos like when some people in the past decided to close their channel and delete their. We could have a backup channel if for whatever stupid reason ours get shut down.

Having multiple people on the plan, spread on different timezones would allow WRs to be uploaded fast at almost any time since usually there would at least someone available, which would be handy at the beginning of the competition, for history purposes. The trickiest part by far would be obviously to get a Japanese recorder, but we could deal without that...

I could probably help record for NA, as a backup uploader. I'll probably make another YT channel to keep it seperate from my own TTs if I do.

The concept is along the line of what Fried did, but with improvements.

The problem with wrvids during the MKW era was that Fried stopped submitting MKW videos after only a few months, and we had to wait many weeks for someone to seriously take over the task of uploading WR's (RR'D). This was because he is the only one to have access to his channel, even though many of his videos were recorded by other people.

With multiple guys at the control, the chances of the channel being let down are significantly diminushed, and in case some of them want to know, we would recruit new recorders on the way.

And of course we would advertise the PP to gather more players.

WRVids became a bit outdated when Fried quit following the MKW section (though he'd have to DL/Upload like every day, so it's understandable). The same thing will happen in this case, though I don't think we should have multiple uploaders for every region and then one for WR's only. More like a select few of trusted/respected people to keep track of the Japanese/American/European/Australian/World Record/ whatever else records and save them in playlists to keep them in order, using one universal uploading channel, of course. Then back the videos up on WRVids.com, should some asshole manage to delete the channel.

I like the idea of having a Youtube channel just for MK7, although I'm not a big fan of Youtube playlists.  It might be easier to just have a wiki page like the one we have for MKWii, and then link to the wiki page from the Youtube channel.  Wiki pages are easier to update and easier to read imo.  Of course it'll only be useful if people update it, which has been a problem for the MKWii page (it hasn't been updated in 3 months).

A few times I've googled something along the lines of 'how to capture 3ds gameplay', but nothing turned up - will there be something like a capture card to get high-quality videos rather than just videos recorded by hand from a camera?

When I tried to take a picture of some lap splits on mkds on my 3ds a while back, when I didn't have access to the family camera (it's quite good - I record my videos on youtube with it), I used the camera on my phone, but it was extremely blurry.
Now I know the camera on my phone is shit, but I thought maybe part of the reason it was so extraordinarily blurry was because of the double screen? Can someone else confirm or disprove this please?

Not as far as I know, maybe someone else has explored the capabilities of it more?
