I remember at uni when McDonalds were doing 49p beefburgers we all bought 15 each raced to eat them, nobody managed it in one go after between 8 to 10 we we just too full it wasn't untill hours later anyone finished. Still remember the look on the girl behind the counters face when we ordered over 100 burgers (only 3 of us drove down to buy them).

I think it was a contest run by McDonalds. Competitors had to eat a cheeseburger as quickly as they could. I think there was a topic here where Kart members competed, many of them posting videos on YouTube.

For the record it was something like 15.9 seconds plus a 1 bite attempt that was like 25 seconds. I removed the videos from my youtube account though so they won't show up in the old topic.

For comparison, the guys at the Nathan's hot dog contest like Joey Chestnut can put away like up to 10 hot dogs a minute at the beginning and average 6 dogs a minute for the whole contest (that's a dog every 10 seconds). I guess I have the speed to do around 40 hot dogs in 10 minutes (if my hamburger pace was comparable) but I doubt I could keep up that pace for very long.
