Can anyone access those links and see what kind of World Record he is talking about?
I'm quite curious, but those links were all very Japanese...that's all fine and well, but I don't read no Japanese.   Plus clicking the most obvious links didn't really lead to anywhere, so..

Its not an April fools joke

The vids are a compilation of a mixture of WRs or closest to WRs he could find. He while back he was saying something about preparing a compilation.

Some of them are Marisa Soutyou's times which he did a year or two ago (MC2, MC3), then a bunch of ours. So they are not of Akita's times.

The MC1 is new though, ive asked Akita to confirm if this was driven by Marisa or someone else. Ha Nyan told me he had done a 2/5 or 3/5 pipe jump NBT race a few months ago, so that may have been the one he was working on.

I guess il have to get back to MC1 again and beat that time without pipe jumps. My 56"4x had a bad lap in it somewhere if i remember anyway, thatl close the gap.

The MC1, 2 and 3 vids look to be from the same driver obviously. The pipehit related boosts might suggest emu play, those are rock hard to do consistently and aren't exactly viable for 5-laps unless you're insanely good. Especially the MC2 and very ending of MC3 make me wonder if this is legit. Not saying it can't be, but still...

Either way, these vids are fucking awesome...@Flo, it seems he only neglected Tyler's KB1 WR and your GV3 vids?

I was thinking the VL2 thing as well, but when a relative outsider to our community pops up with not one, but three of such WR's (VL2 type strength and difficulty), I guess it's not only natural to be alarmed, but it would be foolish not to be. Just saying.  

Anyway, let's await the replies to Sami's emails. Also, it would be nice if Gatchan could reveal the nature of his conversations with Ha about this subject to us.  

That MC2 run was damn nice. Didn't think the sub minute would be possible.

By all means I would be happy to consider it because it isnt a water trick and we are already doing IB on one track. Ha Nyan had told me also about Marisa's 11"20 WR on MC2 lap and it is possible that strat slightly beats the IB strat for NTSC which is interesting. MC3 would just be the exception but not a massive timesaver again.

The times werent done suddenly, Ha Nyan had told me about them from over a year ago but Marisa wanted to reach some targets first so he didnt want the strat video revealed yet. I simply said to Ha Nyan until we saw anything on vid we wouldnt treat it as official yet, especially if a new strat was used.

Like i said maybe Marisa doesnt know that Akita put the vid up, so i dont know his reaction on that. So hopefully they will discuss amongst themselves.

I hope to hear from Ha Nyan as I usually email him more often, but he does speak very highly of Marisa and his skills in SMK that he is potentially faster than the others but focused more on some tracks than others. The fact that some of our karters have met Ha Nyan now is a good link to get information and stuff.

Yes probably, by any means we havent maxed the IB anyway so it may be that way.

I heard about this sub minute MC2 quite a while back 2009 / 2010, but I explained to Ha Nyan back then, that of course he can send PRs in but we would need to see a video if any WRs were made by that extreme level. Whether it was intentional for us to see it or not see it now I dont know, but i am glad that we have. It is a step forward.

Im not sure if Marisa would come to a meeting there, a lot of the guys in Japan are more private which is fair if that is their wish. But Ha Nyan's word that he was hitting these records is a good point Karel yes. It would be great to meet more of the Top Japanese players might be lucky never know. Ha Nyan could maybe write to them aswell, but it is up to them in the end of the day. Plus some live in the other direction further up North.

Pierre:   Yes, we were a bit skeptical on the strat before i vaguely remember a discussion. But as this time we have vids now and we know what tracks it is on we can discuss further. I guess this isnt going to affect all tracks, just a few. All I can say is like before,we are lucky that SMK doesnt have shrooms on Time Trial, it would make things 100s of times more complicated. We have a 150cc site for shenanigans like that the latest things I have seen which are longboosting off other characters and maybe even items(?) while driving as a mini character greatly enhancing some fastlap World Records but without involving lap skip trickery. This is maybe a softer version of that, just adding a few seconds difference or maybe even 1 second to a few 5-lap times and a tiny bit for a 1-lap.
