All the gameplay videos showed contradicts with the idea of manually charged mt's. In fact, from the last video posted by Husky (the only one wher the guy tests really well the demo and actually drive decently, by the way), it appears as a copy/paste of the MKW kart system.

I'm not familiar with these, can someone explain what these are and how they could be used?
SpotPass : online wifi feature that allows system and game updates, and download of content, from your own internet connection or from dedicated spots (in retailers, for example)
In MK3DS, could be used for downloading time-limited competitions like in Mario Kart Wii, or even (potentially) extra tracks and charactersStreetPass : local wifi feature, which allow almost instanteous exchange and interaction of data between two 3DS, when they are in sleep mode. Therefore it works even when you are only walking past people who holds a 3DS, hence the name. Used, for example, for Mii exchange, or for "figurine fighting" in the Super Street Fighter 4 game.
In MK3DS, could be used for transferring stats, infos, friend codes, and maybe ghost data of both players interacting.
