Wow, and to think, I thought I was doing well getting splits for sub 1'07.
I played some of tracks last night. They all seem so hard. I only posted my PC5 times on the site as all my others are just shit atm.

Take your time mate, they are tricky but youl be ok eventually. They have different names but they are extensions of the tracks from SMK. For example where Ghost Valley had 3 tracks, now you have the 4, 5, 6 of those, so in most respects they are a little harder. The only one easier is the equivalent Mario Circuit 5 which is this one. I think Scoub designed it just for me. So i had to go and get a good WR on it for Non-NBT. Tempted to try it again cos of that bad lap 3 lol But maybe il go back later.

Clark, try MC6 (resembles MC3), GV5 (some tricky platform parts, but the MC2 style zipper jump is very cool and not too difficult to perform LBs at) and GV6 (very basic, apart perhaps from the platform-jump section), I think you will enjoy those ones.
Also, it kinda sucks (I guess) that all the other players who submitted times so far are top 10 players, making even your ok runs seem worse than they are. At least you can scoop up UK Records to get the ball rolling vs Ben Allen (and why not Sean if he plays it at Bens...plus Gaff will get it later as well).

Sean is away at Uni now, but we will get him on board later in the year. I dunno when il get time but i may ask Leyla to play over xmas so we can have a few really crappy times on there later (except PC5 which i think shed like to play)
Infact i shouldnt say that, she did some MC1 TT and got 1'03"99 after a short while not far from her pr during the UK Championship. So not bad form, but the courses are challenging yes and confusing at times if you dont know where to go.

I know he did this thing before that if you sent him snes carts, preferebly smk ones id imagine it is a bit cheaper. But you still need to buy that off ebay if you dont have a spare and post it anyway.

I thought Leyla was pretty good at this game.. I saw the video's against Vince in the past where she drove pretty solid... She can do nice times I think.. Well, ok, for you guys it might be shit but isn't she easily capable of reaching top 100 in TT or something.. just wondering..?

Well she retired from competitive time trialing about a month or two after the match with Vince, and literally hardly plays. She doesnt have a chance to at home either cos she has to look after her sister all the time. She doesnt have motivation also to do tracks like VLs and stuff like that. Also after shes karted for a short while if she doesnt get the pr she doesnt want to play anymore. I think shes just got the mindset of someone who will give up if she doesnt win after a short time. She was complaining that she was gona lose everything before the uk championship. I told her its not the case, but then she saw that other casual level players in the TT one tries were struggling, and she was doing ok which motivated her a bit more. She came 14th in that, which is cool, though the other modes pulled her down further.
It is a shame yes but patience is an important thing for being a time trialer.

Once again I have to re-iterate, it is Scoub (Julien Holmiere) who is responsible for all this, not me.
He used SMK SNES carts I believe.

Yep he had to sacrifice genuine SMK PAL cartridges because they are the only ones to include the requested chip for mode 7.

Yes. But we needed SMK cartridges for it to work, because those carts use the DSP-1 chip. And there aren't many games that use that specific chip. In fact, these games are more difficult to find (or more expensive) than SMK ( you can check the list here:

Not sure if it can be done, because it would probably need to re-program (almost) everything... But the tracks are already made and can be used again directly for a potential NTSC version, that's for sure. Maybe the backgrounds and the characters can be re-used without lots of work too. But I'm pretty sure that Scoub would have to re-program many things, like the speed of the CPU, the items' location, etc. Dunno how many time it would require, but he already spent a HUGE amount of time into this, so let's hope he can get some extra motivation to create NTSC cartridges one day !

What does the dude who makes the carts use to actually upload the rom onto the cart? Is it something along the lines of the Super Wild Card? Or some other sort of copier? Seen as he uses old SMK carts, I imagine he slots the cart onto a programmer of some sort which flashes it, then uploads the new rom.

I knew Scoub's DP6 flap was quite strong haha. So do I have any Non-NBT WR's left? I guess not...

I didnt spend too long on those cos i knew they were played more. GV6 was funny, i stuffed up two laps, could have had 1'04"6x easily or more on that run.
EDIT: I didnt vid anything else yet (except my PC5 1'05"86 and 13"07 which i didnt upload yet to youtube) cos they are not maxed so i didnt wana clog up PC with Gigabytes of stuff that would be beaten again next week. I just went for WRs and PRs, whatever i could hit.
What il do is probably go crazy some more on PC6 and some others (PC6 had two slightly slow laps btw), then video those strongest ones i can get.
EDIT 2: What is going on with the French Forum, did it go on holiday or something?
