I have to agree and disagree there.
Unlike Mander, Daniel has streamed (albeit many believe his stream to be faked, he still streamed and set many PR's (such as Rainbow Road) while on stream). Whether people like to believe it or not, we ALL knew that faking a stream was possible; this has been common knowledge since 2010. What seems to have happened was that when Daniel set his rBC3 record on stream, some people (mostly due to Chouy constantly insisting that the time was faked) still refused to accept his time and jumped all over the opportunity to scream "HE IS AN ILLEGITIMATE LIAR" when you brought up the fact that he could have faked the stream due to him not racing ghosts, etc. However, the same could be said with any and every person who streamed prior to the guidelines that you set up and haven't streamed since (whether it be due to retirement, broken Wii, etc.), so it is a bit unfair to jump all over Daniel's case when the same thing could apply to so many more people.
Now, for the big issue that people always, ALWAYS seem to avoid when he's brought up: Mander. I'm going to have to say that this guy cannot be trusted. Does he do the community a huge favor by uploading MKW World Records to YouTube? Yes. However, should that mean that he should get a free pass to any and all accusations? Definitely not.
People seem to overlook / ignore / make weak attempts to shoot me down every time I try to bring these things up:
1. Mander TAS'd on MKSC back in 2003 / early 2004.
2. When some people started to question him, "the data was lost" and he vanished for a little while. Might I mention that this can happen quite often on emulators such as VBA, and I don't even know if VBA was around at this time, meaning that he could have been using an even more faulty emulator.
3. If he is asked to stream, he doesn't. He may pretend that he doesn't see you or even go as far as blocking you if you're on YouTube.
4. Even some people still today question his legitimacy on MKSC -- there is no mystery why. His driving is more consistent than even the likes of Michael Jongerius (seriously) and each and every lap is driven the exact same as the last (this has even happened on MKW -- see tracks like Koopa Cape, Rainbow Road, etc.), he has pulled off SC's that nobody besides him has done more than 1/3, yet he has multiple 3/3 runs (see Sky Garden nonSC, he is 11 seconds ahead of 2nd WW, same goes for Boo Lake SC, where he is 9 seconds ahead of 2nd WW), he has a tendency to maximize runs to where not even TAS can beat them due to the framerate -- literally frame-perfect runs (see
Cheese Land SC,
GV3 SC, etc.).
5. He just pops up when there's a new strategy, even if it's an incredibly hard strategy to do (Rainbow Road, Daisy Circuit and Grumble Volcano come to mind) and usually takes the World Record with it using average driving and near-flawless SC's.
6. He claimed to use the Classic Controller for Daisy Circuit, Wii Remote + Nunchuck for Moonview Highway, etc., and Maschell's site proved this to be a lie. Why is this significant? Because all of them were done with GCN when he said otherwise, and this could mean that he could have at least used TAS codes on them.
7. His rBC3 "no-brake SC" video, which was done live, proves that he is capable of HD livestream, yet he still refuses.
I'm not trying to make Mander look like scum, as he's my friend and competitor on many other games outside MKW, but he definitely needs to be looked into and informed that if he does not at least try to prove himself that he records will no longer be counted as World Records.
