I don't have a camera atm, but I will get it back soon and what then if I want to do a proof vid? I guess a normal replay is kind of shit and I can't record all my tries life . I don't have a recorder there as well so I can't really tape it So how should I do it then?

No, you can't unfortunately. Not that I know of anyways...

If you don't have a capture card, the best/easiest way to do it is to run the signal from the gamecube through a VRC and then out to the TV. Record all your failed attempts on a blank tape and when you PR all you need to do is replay the PR on the tape and record the TV with your camera.

Are there any differences between capture cards? Which one is the best to buy? I don't want to waste a lot of money, a cheap average card would probably work for me. Would be nice if anyone could help me out with this, I don't really know anything about capture cards Undecided

Edit: Tried it with VRC, but it didn't work, since the TV I play on is too old Roll Eyes

There is no AV, so I can't hook it up somehow, maybe it would work if I had some more cables, dunno...help me Undecided

Edit2: I'll probably buy a new TV soon anyway, maybe the problem will be solved then anyway...if not, you can still give me some advice what to do Tongue

I do enjoy watching the replays of my best runs. Not only because you can see where you made mistakes, but you can just look back and see what you've accomplished! FYI: It is definitely possible to watch MKDD replays from the driver's perspective as Nintendo was able to recreate videos from replay files for a contest they held not long after the game was released. I don't think anyone ever figured out how to do it but it was generally assumed that it had something to do with the unique codes provided with replays...

Replays are EASIER to record then Live (unless if you are a sneaky maniac)

So how should I do it then?

MKDS: you need a cheat code for live replays
MKDD: you're on your own unless if you do challenges
MKW: probably the same as MKDS...idk about this one
SMK: both live & replay are EASY!
MKSC: both are fine as long if you know what the hell are you doing
MK64: same with MKSC
MK3DS: as if Grin

(I wish MK3DS was like SMK/MKSC though...so I can kick some FUCKING ass!)

My guess is that they might just used some tools for that rather then that the game itself has a possibility for it. I think they just received the memory card from the players and put it in the dev kits memory slots They load up the ghost data and simply used a different camera perspective. They might have more perspectives and other stuff in the source code for different kind of purposes like testing. Its not always in the final build of the rom file. But who knows and it is in the released version, and we just didn't knew about it for all these years.
