On the SL challenge: Has anyone tried to take a golden mushroom and switch constantly between characters and using the the gloden mushroom every switch so it lasts way longer? Somebody told me this was possible on a youtube comment and I was always intrigued to know if it worked or not. Sometimes youtube comments are Smiley

so I'm skeptical but it would awesome if it worked.

Yeah it works, BUT: it's extremely bad for a flap in GP mode because: everytime when you change from Toad to Toadette (if u use them in a run) you have a tiny moment where you're not at TOP speed. That means: the shroom lasts longer, but you have parts between every shrooming, where you lose time about non TOP speed... omg, i hop you understand what i wrote Grin

Yes, absolutely. I used only 1 mushroom in the video so people could figure out their own shroom spots. I didn't want to influence any strats.

In my MB-lap (see earlier post) I made some use of this: on the final stretch I used a golden mushroom, but at the start of the bridge I switched, picked up a mushroom on the road (intentionally dropped there), then switched back and continued using the golden mushroom. I found that this way the golden mushroom would last until the very end. (In my record run I got a star at the very end, but I doubt it made a difference.) Without that switch / mushroom, the golden mushroom would run out before I could get a new item.
