I recently picked this game back up and got a few PRs (like 5 I think), and then decided that I needed to improve Cheese Land since my PR (1:09.08) is much further back then the WR.

I've gotten some good tries, but all ending in failure because I can't seem to reach the second bumper when taking the jump.

Two questions:

~How do you take the boosted jump to ensure consistency of actually hitting the right angle?
~What do you need to do to hit the second bumper? (is the shroom used there?)

I always thought the shroom was used for the patch of darker cheese that cuts off the whole last corner before the finish, but I might be wrong.

My goal is to at least sub one minute.

First try improved to 1:04.60 after reading that  .

I'm going to sub 1:00 very soon, that was 1/3 double bumper hits and I crashed into a wall on the third lap.

Just focus on aiming for the bump zone on all 3 laps and leave it facing the road. Sub 1'00 is very easy once you know how to take the SC, even with an average run. Just requires practice.

It's easier to use a shroom for the big bounce, but you'll get a faster time if you do it with an MT to save the shroom for the last turn (which requires the MT to be timed well... you might not be ready for that yet) Release the gas while bouncing, so you will be able to focus solely on steering the kart onto the closed-off bounce pad.

Also, you can drive on light-colored cheese without losing speed, and even on darker cheese if you do not stay in it long. Keep your driving line short.
