I actually like what MVT is doing here. There's no need to take this all too seriously. If you don't have a list of people in mind to begin with, why not have a little fun with it?

UPDATE
So far I have received nominations from 44 people.
The top nominee has been nominated 13 times.
165 people have been nominated at least once.
101 people have been nominated at least twice.

Remember there are 113 spots available in the contest, so it looks like you'll need to get nominated at least twice by the end to make it in.
