I'd say rMC2 is actually one of the levels I played least, etch. Also, it was Mark Engelsman who first thought of using toad for rMC2 and while barely any of his times are top 50, he has a #13 5lap time on rMC2. I didn't show a video last time because I don't have a camera but I suppose I could show you the strat by editing one of those mksc maps?
I'm not claiming toad is the best to use for the WR though. Although I've never tried to get the WR back when I lost it, I doubt that I could get it back, it seems to me that if you are very good at rMC2 with bowser(top 2 quality), is indeed better.. But then again, if an average karter like me can get a #4 time then perhaps in the hands of a better karter, he might be the fastest. However there is no doubt in my mind that toad is definately the best character to get a top 10 time with.
Alright, I've put an edited map on imageshack that shows the strat. It's not a work of art but it shows the strat.
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/7863/rmc2.pngIt has been over three years now since I've driven what was then the WR though, so I might have remembered some things wrong. So when I say that I'm not sure which one I used, try both methods.
The reason you use toad for this is that you do not lose a lot of speed in the sand. I suppose you could use peach as well but I think toad handles the sand better.
At 1: This is where I used my mushrooms. When you don't have any mushrooms left, you should still just drive through the sand. You lose so little speed, it's still way faster than not driving through the sand.
At 2: If I remember correctly, instead of using a mini turbo here I jumped over the sand.
At 3: Instead of landing on the road here, land in the sand.
At 4: I'm not sure if I used the black line here or the red one. I probably used the black line, but seeing as I don't remember anymore you should try for yourself if you want to see which is faster
