Maybe we can take it to a different forum, like the ones used by only the mafia to communicate with each other. It'll be a hassle getting everyone over there to play, but it's an idea. From there, we'd be able to make up new names for ourselves, and wouldn't have to worry about any other factors showing who we are if we can hide emails and such.

True enough. I shouldnt have added any rankings at this point as there are many more factors that go into the game. I think its a helpful history of the boards mafia games and players, but beyond that it may not be that interesting to everyone else. I'm not even sure that its entirely right with the different screennames and whatnot. I'll remove the numbers and if anyone shows interest further about it I or someone else can look at more variables.

Okay, went back and collected the mafia specific data. Btw, thank you Cooper for making your list so easy to read. I really like the list of everyone on page 1 with color coded notes about their death or survival status.

Heres what I found and you can make of it whatever you choose. Just like the other list, I am going to organize it by how many times each player won as a mafia member followed by how many times they were mafia. I assume this list can provide a clue about who performs best as a mafia player. If anyones interested I can do it for town as well.

There really isnt enough data to make any conclusive statement on anyone's ability to weave conspiracy in this list, but with the amount of data shown, I'd say Goose would be the best at conspiracy where howes may be better at building a case for a straight story. Anyone who has only been mafia once could have been lucky or unlucky depending on their team.

Again let me know if there is an error in the data. The two clarks can be confusing so that could be an error right there.

Taking those same players it may be possible to look at who's most well rounded as either role or whether a player does better at a particular side. I've cleared out anyone who hasnt at least participated on both sides. Next I filtered out those who didnt have at least over 50% wins on one side or both. Then I bolded those who had played multiple times on both sides

Out of this data again one time can be lucky or unlucky, but with the few people that have played multiple times on both sides, Cooper has a 0% mafia/100% town record and may favor town. Sean has a 50% mafia/100% town so I don't feel its enough data to really guess. Tyler has a 33% mafia/67% town record so it could be plausible hes better at town. Really there isn't enough data to determine anyone, but it was a good time waster.

Goose the best? The stats tell nothing. I sniffed Goose out so easily last game, he was a terrible mafia player and stuck out like a sore thumb, however his team went on to victory. On the other hand in star wars I almost single handedly won it for the mafia yet we lost. I showed way more skill in that loss than Goose did in that win therefore these statistics are an unfair representation of a player's ability.

There have been two mafia wins now, but regardless you're absolutely right. This data is about as reliable as any "evidence" anyone has in the actual mafia game. Assign importance to it only if you feel like its useful to you. As for the win/loss record in this game so far on this board.

2 mafia/7 town - This possibly could show that being mafia is a more difficult role, however we havent even had 10 games, so the sample size is too low for any convincing evidence to any claim made. That and each game is not made up of completely different players each time will lead to a certain bias in the numbers as the repeat players abilities come into question.

Exactly, these statistics are for information of what occurred on the surface of the game and now that i've looked further into it I agree that the assumption I made earlier doesnt hold enough weight. There havent been enough games with the same people over and over to determine the ability of how they all work as a team. For mafia I believe that it is all about team cohesion that brings victory vs an individual. For town that is more difficult because most do not know the identities of the other townies.

For example: In the last game, if it wasnt for my teammates calming my suspicions down that I had pointing towards my own teammates, I might have killed one of them off and that would have shifted the game dramatically.

Simply no way Cooper is better than me. Also no way Sean is better than me, or even Sportsguy.

I am the best. There is no question.

Take last game for instance, yes I was first lynched, but I protected my fellow mafia. I knew that I would be a big target so what did I do? I acted ridiculous and made absolutely no allegiance to anyone so that they wouldn't have a fucking clue who the mafia were.

I am the best and I will prove it again by winning this game.
