Some may know me from the MKDS PP, I have some questions to MKSC Cheesy

I'll have to go to a very very very very(...) boring birthday party of a friend of my Dad in like 1 hour. The DS is too big to carry it with me in the pocket of my trousers, so I will take the GBA SP with MKSC with me. I think I already unlocked all tracks and have a half full timeset or so don't ask me. So I just wanted to ask if there were any important things to do/not to do when tting in MKSC Cheesy

Make sure you start off using Bowser. Some people like using Toad or others when they start since those characters are easier to handle. If you are going to eventually play the game competitively, you should just use Bowser now since you'll have to in the future.

Since you're just starting, don't try and focus on MTing completely. You can get some decent ranked times without doing any MTs, or only doing them on complete U-turns. For now, focus more on getting a feel for the kart, and being able to take turns as tight as possible.

I'm really no MKSC pro though, so see what some of the good players such as Etch have to say.

thought you was a beast on MKDS back in the day (and now!), good to see you playing this.

to re-iterate what Kevin said, use Bowser from the get-go, use MTs via hairpins and get into the habit of 'straightening out' after a corner - just a quick flick of opposite lock after a corner, with a hop as well, gives you breathing space to sort out your driving lines for the next corners. Use shrooms wisely, persist, and have fun.

There's a lot of possible "shortcuts" in the game. Eventually you'll get used to the rules though and know what not to do. You probably don't have time to look through all of those now, so if you think something is a shortcut, just don't use it until you look back at that page.

Nice to see you around these parts, Zwiebel!
If you look at my timesheet, most of my times are done without an R button, and are (well) inside the top 100. I even have a couple top 50s without R (CL).
Unlike MKDS, your driving line is much more important than MTs.
My point is, just concentrate on driving at 1st, you can add in the MTs later (as said before in this topic). You should climb the lower ranks really fast.
