i have them, there are 2 flap strats but one hasn't been done yet so I am not sure if it's possible but it seems like it is, but i think it's slower, the one shown in the flap TAS is the fastest and can go down to 11 seconds with a better 2nd glitch, if someone makes me the first glitch like in his TAS I will sub 12

Don't count on that.  I don't really intend on making anything.  I'm very low on time at the moment.  I just wanted to test out the program on my computer and see how it worked.  If I did anything it would be using keyboard only which probably would suck.

I remember him saying he used the keyboard for at least some of his MKW tases. I also use the keyboard, always have. All of my tases are done using it.

This appears to work in the same way as MG or WGM. Remember the blue "checkpoints" are just respawn points and the green ones / finish line are actual checkpoints. Now as usual, you must get EITHER all f the checkpoints (BC, bc3 etc. get all the green checkpoints) OR just the last green checkpoint and finish line (as in MG, GV, WGM etc.) In this instance he appears to do it in the same way that MG or WGM etc. would work, by ONLY getting the last checkpoint. However, it is decieving as he does it in a single jump.

Furthermore, I remember Black saying 13 was possible with a strat he discovered a long time ago, looks like he was right Tongue

As for why it didn't work for Troy, well, he would have done the first part of the lap without the glitch, thus hitting the first checkpoint and causing the need to hit ALL checkpoints. The reason that it works for this strategy is because technically the first checkpoint and the finish line area are part of the same checkpoint, which was left without transferring to the next blue "checkpoint" area. This is why, for example, doing the backwards lap count glitch on Yoshi Falls counts the lap in a wierd place, because it is all a single checkpoint in that area.

Thanks David for posting the checkpoint map, I was equally confused until you posted that and made me understand.


To summarise: The second glitch ONLY works if you do the first one too, and I now have definite proof of the two ways of making laps count, and that checkpoints (at least the start/finish one, and probably all) are actually areas rather than lines.

I do, well at least I did. Now Dolphin has a TAS input plugin so that you can emulate the different positions of the pad, however if I dont get used to it I'll keep using the keyboard.

I don't but I could made them, not now though, I'm really busy with exams at the moment to do a full set. Those images are taken from SZS Modifier (The tool to make Custom Tracks), and I just changed the colours of the "key checkpoints" (green) with paint.

Well figured out. I remember checking the checkpoint map of Maple treeway last time this sort of discussion came up almost a year ago, and I couldn't exactly remember how many 'green' checkpoints there were. I just checked again and there's a lot, meaning a glitch is unlikely.
Also, this theory of yours doesn't explain how the important checkpoint at the u-turn can be skipped, but the lap counts.

For the CP glitch system: The easiest one is 3 or 4 lap count checkpoints: You are not allowed to be in the area between first green and the following blue cp at all if you wanna skip the other lap count CP areas.
You only have to be in the last one after but if you are doing lap skips close to the finish you have to be careful, being in the CP area from last cp to finish are (not last lap count cp area) you have to start over again else it will not count

If this is hard to understand I can show you some example routes with David's pic

Sorry about the big picture.

Basically, if it were possible with a better clip to get behind that checkpoint, you could get a lap count, in theory (might be possible if aiming at closest bit of land more to the right (from view in yt vid)?).

Edit: Also, it seems that even if that N64BC clip he was trying could get him onto the track, he'd have to pass two more key checkpoints before reaching the finish line (the other being on the boost jump).

Don't know if that would trigger a lap count. Maybe, when considering a track with 4 key checkpoints, you can trigger a lap by passing: 1234, 234, 34, 4?
