It's not a problem, but maybe it's caused by one:
I can no longer login using my current username (TvL). Using my e-mailaddress also doesn't work. I can still login though with my original username (Thomas_vL). So there is no problem, but it is peculiar that a few days ago I could use TvL to login. Maybe it's caused by a bug relating to the recent board problems?

@TvL: Possibly. Was your account name "TvL" or "T.v.L", or something similar? I looked for the config data for such an account name and it's not there. If your config data is gone then it makes sense that you can't login. It can be recovered, I think, because Mark and Lacey keep backups. If they've got your message board files for your account, I can re-instate your post count, PMs, etc.
If your account name wasn't TvL then maybe it's still there and I've been looking for the wrong name, but when you said the account name is 'TvL' I assume you meant those exact letters.
I'll ask Lacey if your data appears in his backup, because they don't seem to be on the server.

@Tom: I took a look and several of your account's data fields are blank. They're not supposed to be blank. It seems yours is the only account affected in such a way. Perhaps this is why your account disappeared -- it got corrupted somehow at the moment the site had its limit exceeded. That might explain why only one person's files were affected (i.e. you "caused" it by being the straw to break the camel's back). So maybe your account was messed up by accident and not by some voodoo hacker. I found your old PMs and tried to add them back into your new account -- tell me if it worked and if you can read them.
If it worked then I should be able to manually edit these files and give you your account back (by renaming your current account), which will get rid of the 'ex member' status.

Try your old account now. If it works, rename your temporary one because it's confusing

@TvL: William says he can't find the data for "TvL" in the backup from July. It's strange that you were able to login with it "a few days ago". Are you sure about the account name?

Pretty sure that's how it's always been? I thought you had to log in with either your email address or your username, not to be confused with your display name. Same for TvL....but yeah i just tried and it wouldn't log me in with my email, and I needed proper capitalization of the username.

Yeah I very rarely log in anyway.

I have a similar problem I believe.

The last time I was able to sign in to my original account "BrettMK", was on the 23rd. I have attempted it several times since but it doesn't work. I have tried resetting the password, but it doesn't recognize my e-mail address. I am positive I am entering in the right e-mail address, I don't know where to go from here.

I just created this account because I had to post that message. My old account had like 60 posts.

Before I used to log in with BrettMK, I had forgotten what I put as my account name and not my display name, but logging in with BrettMK worked all the time before this.

There doesn't appear to be any problem with my account. My post count is roughly what it's supposed to be, my profile data do not seem to be affected, etc.
For clarity: my account name is "Thomas_vL". At some point I changed my display name to "TvL", and found out that I could also login using the latter (which is shorter to type). Now this doesn't work anymore. I also cannot login with my email address, although this is something I've never tried before.

Logging in by email address appears to be not allowed right now.  You will have to log in using your original user name (NOT your display name, this is the name of the account) and your normal password for now.  You can find your username in your user profile which can be accessed by clicking "My Center" at the top of any page.  After you click the "Profile" button and type in your password, you will see your USER NAME in parentheses above the change password option.  This is what you should use to log in with.

I can't login at all. Then again no one can see my posts. Why do I exist?
