I would definitely print out a lot of detailed information on some major inventions (such as electricity in general, the light bulb, telephone, etc.) to take with me. Seeing I'm staying there for the rest of my life, I'd like to have a chance to experience such comforts again and to share them with my surroundings. To achieve that it will require a lot of cooperation from others who will at first have no idea what I'm talking about I'm sure, but this will at least give me a headstart if I want those things to be realized.

But in all seriousness, I suppose the first thing I would do is take all my money and convert it to gold so I can convert it back to the currency of the time period I'm going to. Then I don't need to bother with extra clothes and food, as I can just buy whatever I need. Hopefully it won't be too heavy or too large to fit into the suitcase.

Witnesses might be a problem, they could start a village mob and burn me on the stake if I just materialize right in front of their eyes. I suppose I should bring a gun for protection. And shoes, at least 2 or 3 pairs that are dependable and will last a while. No doubt I will be doing a lot of running.

Language would be a problem. Gold speaks for itself to get me what I need without really needing to explain, but I wouldn't know if I'm being cheated. Hmmm, not really sure what to do about that. I'd say to bring an electronic translator or something, but that won't last long unless I bring a ton of batteries.

Maps might be good. Since I don't know where in Europe I'm going to appear, maybe bring a laptop with a few batteries with a map program on it that will direct you to the nearest city. Once I get to the city I shouldn't need the laptop anymore.

I have a feeling I've filled up my suitcase, but I can't think of anything else to bring.

Actually, in addition to what im already bringing, il bring a portable dvd player and a copy of Commando. Il watch it before I do anything just to get some ideas on how to be more badass. Hopefully I can meet someone called Bennett, then he can be my nemesis.

I'll tell them that there is another wizard amongst us; and that this one kills in the shadows and that he is two ranks above me.

I'll tell them that without me they can't beat the secret wizard.

Once I've got enough followers I'll let them in on an opportunity.

Ether way; I'm earning the title of a king; and I plan on putting smart/intelligent people in power first; not just people I can trust.

Or maybe that i would somehow find a laptop that's rechargeable with sunlight and download 100s of games + a few thousand books. I would take several of these laptops just in case one of them breaks.

Clothes that are appropriate for that time period
Matches and Lighters
Gold and Silver
Revolvers and lots of ammo
Axe, Flint, and other basic survivor tools
Medical Knowledge
Bullet Proof Vest

Looking like a complete stranger, it's probably best to blend in as much as possible or you will be taken to some kind of court and found guilty of something.  Even with all that firepower, there is only one of you and they had their own kind of offensive weapons too.  I'd probably make my way to Rome.  You also have access to the sea so if you wanted to go somewhere else you could with enough money.  The church had a large influence so if you wanted to do something on a large scale, you would most likely need their help and approval.  As long as I say these ideas and inventions came from God, that may put me in the clear for having such items.  First thing that jumps to my mind is make the crusades successful, this could undo a lot of bullshit in the Middle East besides being fun.  The revolver is a reliable firearm and the knowledge of gun powder would at least let others build simpler guns and other weapons.  No one would stand a chance against an army like that.  This would be enough to keep the mongols from invading our turf later.  The next big thing I would do is share navigational knowledge in the promise of the gold and resources that it produces.  Imagine if Europe reaches the New World even earlier?  Lastly, reintroduce the wonders of plumbing and personal hygiene since I want to live past my thirties.  The rest I can think of once I get there.

If snacking is high on the to do list, bring some rubbers.
