Okay...
Only thing I don't like is that these mafia threads are increasing post counts without any merit. If a bunch of stuff that could be done over msn, aim, etc. is posted on the board, most of you guys would want it removed. I wouldn't mind it as much if the posts were not as numerous and pointless but whatever.
That's just me though, but they do attract an unnecessary amount of traffic to the site.
Having this every other week cheapens the whole thing so maybe it should be done a few times a year max?

I agree but unfortunately, the n00bs decide it's time to start trolling when they can no longer go pr'ing.
The mod stuff isn't just for status Jeff, you have to actually do something with it.

Now I don't know how much actual modding some of these guys do but the whole point is to keep things from getting really shitty. In the past, some of the boards had problems but most of that has been resolved by now. Even mkwii has calmed down and there really isn't much to delete there. Occasionally, threads need to be locked or moved around so it's good to have someone active and capable of doing so.
Main reason most people are mods is because they are involved in updating the site in some way.
Those guy are board masters Jeff because they do the JCM detective work and other site things most n00bs can't handle. As for the regular mods, all of those guys are regular posters and do help keep their sections clean and some amount of updating to the sites. As for global mods, think of them as the same thing but with more power. When Mark upgraded the board last time he figured if we didn't limit a mod per board, there would be a better chance of someone being around to take care of any problems. As for the not as around mods, he didn't feel like removing mod status from those who helped with the sites before and were important in the kart community so that's why Kevin, Sully, and Fince still hang onto them. Not like they are around modding all year but it's useful when things need to be discussed on the mod board. Honko got them after helping with the kart contest in addition to having updated the mk64 site for awhile and helps with mkwii. Sami is the main guy on smk, Tom on mksc, and you know who.
While some of them may make asshole edits, Mark had some reasons behind who is mod and what not.
Make me board master and I promise to deliver more justice in a single day than this place gets in a year.
