But you can see in a second it's emulatorshit... We are living in 2015!! Come on.. this lagstuff and no nbt-stuff should have been gone by now..  serious, if the online stuff was running as smooth as the SNES does I would play every day online

Obviously online SMK can be horrible and frustrating, to the point that indeed boosts are bound to fail. But you gotta use the cards that you're dealt. There is no smoother alternative available and if both players have a good internet connection, it comes somewhat close to proper SMK. I think everyone except HAK knows that you have to take online results with a grain of salt. We're just there to have fun.

Exactly why I haven't trained any matches prior to online tournaments since the last few years, just go straight in as is. There is no point practicing when the zoom start time changes between each time you play a different person. When one cant even drive MC1 Non-NBT properly online, that is saying something.

What you guys must understand is that it is, for now, the only way we have to play and compete with various karters around the world. Most of them will probably never attend CDM because of travelling fees and I can hear that. Although I highly encourage them to try making one CDM at least once.

So I'm glad I've joined SNESOT for online SMK matches, because if I didn't I wouldn't have known and played with so many SMK legends such as Kart_King (USA), Wayze (AUS), HAK (USA), Garro (USA), xot82 (SWE), Siipe (BRA), MrGuinas (BRA), Cloud (BRA), smkdan (AUS) and so on ...

Online SMK might not be as smooth as the real stuff, but damn we're talking about Super Mario Kart, it's the best game ever, and it is hugely enjoyable even with some minor lag.

SNESOT NTSC Match Race Quarter final Me vs Cocatriz:



This match is a good example of how sub-optimal SMK online can be, with frequent and lengthy lag-spikes clearly disrupting our driving. Would you believe it if I said that we still had fun though? You just look for it in other places, such as scoreline development and still pulling off some moves and strategies that do work. I definitely choked after that mega gift on MC4...I find special cup especially gruelling online and Cocatriz mounted an excellent comeback. Then VL2 happened.

I'm happy to be in the final again, so at least I will have a shot at defending my title from 2014. Sami wasn't in the mood, but he still took the fight all the way to VL2 nonetheless.
