No, I understood you. I will say it again.

This is the Best Known Splits thread. The above-mentioned splits are the current Best Known Splits. Therefore, I don't seen any reason why they shouldn't be added. In any case, the current splits aren't relevant anymore (except for non-glitch, of course).

"As I understand it, the reason for this thread was to find a theoretical best human time. You obviously cannot do that without including these laps; no matter how 'bad' they may seem to be."

I'm not going to bother arguing this further, if you can't see why I'm saying this then there's no point continuing.

I wouldn't call it an argument (even though I said arguing in my post above), more a discussion.

@Alaktorn: Because neither do the CURRENT splits give any idea as to the best theoretical time. Waiting for someone to get better splits is stupid. What if they never come? it seems you misunderstood me, I never ever mentioned whatever splits were used when starting the argument, I’m talking generally; I don’t give a fuck about whatever DKM split was gotten

…no. why do they? if you already know that they’re improvable by as much as a full second, they clearly don’t show the best theoretical time, neither the “current” best theoretical time, as you already know a time 3 seconds faster is possible, so what’s the point of writing down something so bad that gives no further info about a theoretical best, and potentially misleads you to believe a much slower time is the theoretical best?

I'm not disputing the fact that they're improvable - far from it. What I'm saying is, since this thread is meant to show the 'Best Known Splits', and those DKM splits are (currently) the 'Best Known Splits', then they should be considered so. At least these splits are accurate to the purpose of the thread; the current splits are completely wrong.

2nd: it seems like, as I said before, you’re clinging to the topic’s title, which is dumb; I’ll explain further: if you can think of a better title for what this topic is supposed to be (which is not what it literally says), then go ahead and the topic’s title can be changed, but there’s one problem with that: the BKS definition has been used for such a long time that everyone recognizes the word BKS now, changing that is gonna be difficult / a needless bother; it doesn’t mean that the topic’s title should be taken literally

1. You're ignoring the fact that I AM talking about the DKM splits. From my very first post, that was my topic. They are an example of what you were talking about - splits that CAN be significantly better but (my point) currently aren't.

2. I don't understand what you want from me (or this thread) here. What splits do you suggest should be listed here, then? If the title of the thread is "Best Known Splits", then that is quite obviously what should be found within the thread. Telling me I'm clinging to this topic's title isn't saying anything at all - because the whole point of this topic is found IN THE TITLE.

How you can not understand that is completely beyond me, and it's not worth anymore of my time trying to explain.

As the creator of the thread, I think I am the only one who can answer as to its purpose. The purpose of the thread is to list the best available splits currently driven. It is not to find a theoretical human best. If that were the case, all the times when people started off a lap really really well and then had an error that cost them .2 or so could just subtract .2 from their split and call it a BKS. So, I'm not sure why anyone is arguing about the purpose I had in mind for creating this thread and claiming they know what it was, because obviously no one had a clue until now.

all TAS strats have been done by humans without TAS except the double cut which only saves 0.3 compared to NMeade's one
humans have done 6 low trick or even 7 on the hills so 35.3-4 is definitly possible with a perfect human lap
