So, if I understood your point well, you mean that you wanted to play MKSC with multiplayers, using for one player the gba and the other one the controller. right?
Or you just wondered if you could use the gamecube controller instead of the gba...?
For the first case I don't think so but I never tried and for the second one, yes you can.

Yeah cable + gba SP is you want to play MKSC on the gamecube. Or you could use the GCN controler as well. Wink
