Game Boy Advance games can be played on other systems as well, including DS (which is what I play on) as well as on the GameCube (using a piece of equipment called the Game Boy Player). You might be able to play it on a Wii as well, so I added that as an option. I don't yet have a Wii however so I don't know much about it.

Who else here plays MKSC on a system other than the GBA it was originally made for? And do you find any advantages to playing on a different system? I myself would like to get a Game Boy Player so I can play with a GameCube controller and be able to see the game on a TV screen. For now however I'm stuck with a DS since some punks stole my GBA. It's not the most comfortable system to play on, unless maybe you're a young child, with the teeny-tiny buttons that are like a millimeter apart. That gets my adult-sized hands very tired after a while. In fact I messed up a RDP3 run because I accidently hit the brake!

Still, I can see one advantage of using DS: you can put both MKSC and MKDS in it so you'll have two Kart games in one system, just loosen the DS cartridge if you want to play SC.

GBA, more specifically the SP. It's the fourth one I've had, and is statistically the most successful as well regarding the gaming achievements I've had on it (previous SP was on its way in that respect, before the L-button packed in). I find its grip comfortable and easier to deal with than the original GBA, and can change my finger positions accordingly with it - currently I use the L button in a trigger fashion with my left index finger, and the R button with my right index slumped over it at all times for easy access. It's a carry-over from my MKSC days that seems to have also worked best for other games such as F-Zero.

I don't particularly care for DS use in a strategic sense, but I guess the universality of it's gaming penchance is a highlight. I hate, *hate*, using the GB Player on a TV screen for GBA games - more specifically the GC controller, which is something I cannot get along with. I feel queasy just thinking about how frickin' spongy those shoulder buttons are.

I used to play on my Cube (Hori-Controller ftw!) and record my runs through it = awesome quality compared to blurry GBA videos.

I changed to DS though, apparently still a bad choice because of modifying and all!? Got a load of PRs with it though when I came back to this game.
Saving my best ghosts for recording through Cube again if I needed them (= if I was any good at this game)

You can change the settings. The DS won't start games automatically then and you will be able to choose GBA or DS game in the menu.

I still use the same white GBA i got 6 years ago. I find the pad and buttons are nice and responsive still, and it is a lot bigger and comfier then the DS, which is a lot more cramped imo. The screen is also bigger, although the major downside is its not back lit. I have recorded some times on DS but i far prefer my original GBA     Smiley

I stick to my DS, which has practically died recently. My R button is kinda screwed from MKDS, so I'm going to stick to MKWii and Brawl for now to see if it fixes itself, which it has a habit of doing. I might have to get another DS soon.

I use the old DS, the dls is too small for me (despite the screen being better).

The old ds is a bit more like the gba but with a back lite.

I find the gba comfortable but i can't see the Ghost Courses

Never had an SP (yet) but can't get used to the square grip.

Might get a micro! that for the win!

Has anyone ever been able to make a proof photo on DS? No matter how many times I try, I cannot get the numbers into focus on my digital camera. This is another reason why I'd like to play on GameCube...

I got large hands but I love it. You can reach almost any part of the thing with one hand, it's great for one-handed playing.

one hand??????????? how would you manage that??

I tried most my games on it, it fits well for GPL but not mksc, my hand placement is different and it feels less cramped

My camera doesn't seem to have zoom or macro setting, if it does then I don't know how to find it. I tried using my printer-scanner but the image was always overexposed. There is no way to turn down the brightness on a DS.
