Okay I skipped a few days because I had a lot of work around here :p

In Group I I had four main contender for my votes Booth one of the original player. Sean Sullivan a board mod and a great guy who plays MK64. Trystan Pugh another great guy who plays MK64. Steve Meaking who has been around for some time now and is a nice member of the board and the chat room also showing some skills at the games!

So out of those I decided to go with Kevin Booth as my first vote. I couldn't vote again that guy. He's a pillar of the sites and has been around for so long. The community wouldn't be the same without this guy support and dedication.

Now I had 3 choices and only one vote. I decided to go with Sean Sullivan since he's an awesome guy like Trystan but he's also a moderator. While Steve I didn't get to talk to him that much other then a few time in the chat.

Group J now! My first vote was an easy one. It was for Finn. This guy posts are awesome and he shows a lot of dedication to improve his time. It's nice to have a member who never give up and it does help a lot of karter to boost up their skill and get PRs while he plays. So for this activity boost and the man himself I voted Finn!

The second vote was way harder to decide though. With so many nice entertaining and great gamer. Chris Clark has a big presence on the board and is funny. Guilherme Arantes is a nice SMK player but I didn't talk to him really so far. Julien Holmiere another SMK player who's doing quite well. And Steven Glen a member of the board who's well known and funny. So out of those I was pretty sure Clark was making it due to his fan crowd on the board so I ruled him out. Arantes was also left out since I don't know him much and it's about who we like the best. So it was between Julien and Stevens. I got to know both of them via the board Stevens in a less "friendly" way I'd say but he's a pretty nice member of the board. While Holmière is still on the board and play SMK. All in all I had to go with Holmière because he plays SMK and I decided to give my support to those guy while Stevens doesn't play any of the games anymore.

In the tie breaker I went for Fran since he has a bigger presence on the board  and post in the general board. Both were pretty good but the board presence made it for Fran.

On to group K. That was quite a field with big names from several games. Out of all those my first vote was quite easy. I've met the guy in person and he's a nice guy. He's also very talented at SMK and MK64 and we had a nice time. So I went with old school Louis-Philippe Sabbagh. I knew he wouldn't make it but he's really someone to know.

Then the thing went tricky since a lot of the other deserved my vote. After some time it was between Karel the SMK dutch machine, Robin the contest guy and Jeffrey a legend player for MK64. But now that Jeffrey is a bit less online and is pretty much inactive it was more of a fight between Robin and Karel. After some thinking I decided to go with Robin for his time spent in this contest. Glad both made it.

Group L... well it seems my vote didn't go through. It could be because I couldn't choose out of all those. Wonn discovered most of the MK64 SCs I love so much Smiley. Maaathew is a cool boy who is less active then before but I do remember having some fun with him. Josh Layne a very talented gamer as some could find at last year meet  Wink. A very nice guy just need a bit more time I think. Holmiere a talented SMK player who's still around. Joe Bernier is the US SMK machine and also quite present on the board. And finaly Szabo a mod and a big presence on the board. Then Piet and Math are both great board posters.

Group M I went with Vincent because he's so awesome at MK64 sc. He helped me a lot at MK64 and has a nie shortcut explanation vid on youtube. It's a shame he's not around much anymore.

Then the 2nd vote went to Hukkelas because I talked to him over MSN back a few years ago and we had some niec discussion about music and some challenges while he was hosting these instead of Robin nowadays.

Last group which is group N. My first vote went to Weatherton for kindly hosting the meeting 2 years in a row. For almost no fee in a nice place. Also he was updating the alternate challenges page and added a bunch of new challenges to it while he was doing so. A bit sad he didn't make it.

Then the second vote went to Marius! This guy has a lot of talent and he did show it by getting the SM64 16 stars WR some time ago. This required some dedication and some talent. There was no doubt he had some in MK but he is a very well rounded gamer for sure. He's also quite present on the board but he already had my vote Smiley. Good thing he made it through he did deserve it!

Group G: Fried and Jacob Goldfinger
Group H: Paul Tanney and Abel Marques. I wanted to vote for Gaffikin too but I have known these guys for longer.

Group M: my group!!!!!!!!!  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

Technically Karlo still is in my eyes, NTSC>PAL in SCs Cool

Voted for Brutus, sucks hat he was one vote from tying Giulio. Well good luck next time.

For the other Group, my all time favorite spammer Sean and for the Mk64 love and for his great performance Luke Barnard. Smiley

Don't feel bad dude. The fact that you made the cut of top 128 should say something. There are 2,700 members of this board and several thousand members of the kart pages. I think those numbers put things into perspective. Smiley

Yeah I wasn't expecting more than 2 votes for me in my group. There were a lot of big names in my group and I'm surprised that I got as many votes as I did. I'm very happy with the results and want to thank everyone who did vote for me! You guys are the best!

here are my votes (in green the karters who go to the next round) :

----------ROUND 1

Group A : Pierre L'Hoest / Matt Ellis
Group B : Sebastian Stellmacher / Alencar Faria
Group C : David Smith / Mark Engelsman
Group D : Tuomas Dunkel / Jamie White
Group E : Alvin van Asselt / Drew Blumfield
Group F : Luca Barbetta / Armin Huber
Group G : Vincent van der Fluit / Leyla Hasso
Group H : April Thompson / Tom Gaffikin
Group I : Jonathan Sifleet / Manuel Babjar
Group J : Guilherme Arantes / Julien Holmière
Group K : Karel van Duijvenboden / Lars Stelzig
Group L : didn't vote because I was in the group
Group M : Marius Hukkelaas / Harold Christensen
Group N : Sean Billingsley / Ben Allen
Group O : Gerard Roodhorst / Florent Lecoanet
Group P : Angelo di Vano / Daniel Pabst

----------ROUND 2

Groupe A : April Thompson / Thomas McConville
Groupe B : Mark Jones / Simon Laflamme
Groupe C : --- / ---
Groupe D : --- / ---

----------

I voted mainly for smk or mksc karters, cos I am part of these communities. Also voted for people I could met during meetings.
I mentionned an exception like Dunkel but there is also Lars Stelzig now. His name sounded nice, I think I heard about him or he is quite active or quite known here. Well I try to prove I didn't pick him randomly. Roll Eyes
Another exception now is Thomas McConville : I voted him because I think he is quite active here, well I remembered his nickname Pulsar. In the sections where I went, I saw him maybe more active than the others.

Thanks to the 28 people who voted for me  Smiley
Also thanks to the guys who made the list of the 128 karters and put me in.
I wasn't in the list of the 64 karters in 2006 (and not in the play-in groups).
I was in the list of the 128 karters in 2004, and lost at the second round (maybe the same will happen this year if you don't vote for me :'().

Group O I voted for MJ the machine and for Benoit Boudreau. There wasn't much doubt about the skill Michael have and I think he deserved to go through based on that only. For Benoit well he's a cool guy on the board and I still remember the nice robot he made for Guitar Hero. I hesitated between Florent and Benoit but since I was pretty sure Florent would make it I decided to go with Benoit.

Group P hat one was actualy rather easy as I talked to only 2 of those for long thus I voted for them. Cooper was the first vote because he's funny and fun to talk to for the few times he is around. And then I knew Lucas and Scott but I talked to Scott way more then Lucas and he is part of the contest so I went with him.

In the first match of the round 2 I went with Michael Liem for the same reason as before he's great an old school player and a legend around here. He's an important member of the site too.

Then my second vote went to Matt Tanzer because out of the 3 others he's the one I talk to the most.

And for the 2nd match of round 2 I went with Mark because he's interesting to talk to and a pillar of the site without him it certainly wouldn't be the same.

For the other vote I went with Simon since as I said before I met him and he's very skilled at SMK and MK64 as well. While also being an updater and creater of the Non-NBT site for some time.

EDIT... meh no one replied  Tongue

2nd round Group C I voted for Booth obviously because I feel he deserve to get far as one of the initial member of the whole community.

My second vote went to SMK and MK64 player Jamie White. That guy has a lot of skills nad raised quickly through MK64 ranking at least. Along with that he has a nice ranking at SMK!

I don't know much about Sebastian so I didn't vote for him even if I knew he'd get some strong support from some groups. As for Ellis he's a well established board member and I was pretty sure he would make it to the round 3.

Then for Group D I had a lot of difficulties to chose. William Lacey the first GOD in MK64 history against one of the best SMK player ever in both PAL and NTSC. Then there was this guy Marius Hukkelaas another Mk64 player not really active in that game anymore. Finaly Gregor Fran for which I voted in the tie breaker. So who should I vote for...

My first vote went to Lacey for his dedication to get all the GOD time beaten and prove it was possible to do so. He's nice to talk about helpful and still very active in the chat.

Then it was between Pierre and Marius and I decided to go with Marius because I talked to him more then Pierre and htat as I said previously he was the host and possibly the creator of the challenge contest we're still playing years later!

Pierre and William really deserved to get through because of their insane skills though.

Well it's not like you are ensured of having the possibility to go on all the time. Getting to the round 2 is already pretty good in itself. But sometimes it might not be possible to win. Just like I didn't expect to get out of my 1st round matchup. Sometimes you just can't  Tongue.

But I'm pretty sure you'll have a nice showing in that match and it could be quite close.
