Another day down in the exciting prediction contest. Many great brackets were demolished today, and Mark Jones lost his spot at the top. He was replaced in the tie with Fried/Gaffikin's sweet set of preds by Alex Penev. Alex is the only member with a chance at an 8/8 today, pending the Tiebreaker match. A few people could get an extra point if the tiebreaker goes their way. The most commonly missed pick in Group E was Duff, in his surprising defeat by Nate in the last 2 minutes. The most commonly missed pick in Group F was Lewis Benny, as he couldn't muster enough votes to pass to round two. Stay tuned for more exciting action in the next 24 hours!

Today's exciting matches had an impact on the Predictions! There were NO perfects today, but with Armin's win in the Tiebreaker, Alex Penev's Day Three preds turned into a perfect 8, only the third 8/8 this year by anyone! PYL made a great leap today, gaining 7 points plus one for Armin, moving up into the FOUR WAY tie for first place. Disappointment of the day was Mark Jones again, changing to the WRONG answer and losing another spot on the ladder. There wasn't quite as much movement as yesterday through the standings, but who knows what tomorrow will hold!

(If you think your score has not been correctly calculated, PM me or find me in IRC and we can see. I WILL do a full recount at the end of the First Round, to make sure no errors have been made.)

Interesting day down on the farm today! The tiebreaker again will skew the results slightly, and the chance for another 8/8 hangs on it (Ellis has 7/8 with Shaun outstanding). Last time there was a tiebreaker the results gave Penev the 8/8 so who knows! Slight change at the top, Ellis and Robin moved up a notch and PYL fell one. Basically today's results were: if you picked Biff, you went up a spot. The most commonly missed answer instead of Biff was Trystan Pugh, who wasn't able to pull enough old school votes to compete with the Street Fighter pro.

For those interested, here's how the tiebreak results will change the leaderboard: A Tanney win gives Ellis the lead with 34, while a Fran win would give Penev the lead with 34 points. Tanney win would also move Mark up to 33 points, while a Fran win would bump PYL up a spot. Other top competitors' results will not change based on the tiebreak.

Why you should vote for Gregor:
- he's great at MKDD. He also plays MKDS.
- still on MKDD, he was the first to make 32/32 videos and his PRs were downloadable by all (in lovely 60hz)
- he was interviewed by a radio station about Mario Kart and about being the top US player
- he's a foreign film buff
- he's apparently a red-haired politician and technician
- he's older than you, and therefore wiser than you

Why you should vote for Shaun:
- he's great at MKWii. He also plays MKDD.
- still on MKW, he was first on GV SC and his WR ghost was downloadable by all (in lovely 60hz)
- he's Paul's brother. All those times you wished someone would smack Paul over the head for having a girl's haircut, it was Shaun who got the pleasure.
- he always beats Paul at Street Fighter
- he's younger than you, and therefore more skillful than you

But you should vote for whoever makes Matt Ellis not take the lead in the predictions. You wouldn't want a Canadian to be winning, would you?

One, nobody in Australia drinks Fosters. It's just cheap beer we export, and Brits actually buy it. It's hilarious. We have our own Stella brewery.
Two, nobody in Australia listens to Kylie Minogue. Not since the 90s, anyway. She spends all her time overseas. I have CDs of Shania and nothing of Kylie. So there.

@Matt: yeah, Toronto has a very long tower. Probably to make up for the small average penis size in that city. We don't have anything that big. Our country is so flat that anything that tall will get knocked over by winds that have traveled from the opposite side of the country. What we do have is Uluru. One giant monolithic rock. It looks somewhat like a turd from an elephant god. Anyway, you can't top that. It symbolises how much we rock, and according to the elephant gods we rock the hardest in the world. In conclusion: vote Gregor.

I've been so off and on with the 2K8 -- my sister is moving to another country in less than a week (yes, I hid the fact I have a sister from you Penev, for all this time! muahaha) so I've been online far less than normal - haven't been checking out the preds results or any of the online banter at all. Hell, I even missed voting for groups C and D, which was probably why Drew was buffed out by one vote (I would've voted for him; not saying my vote was uber important but it would've allowed him a chance into a tiebreaker). But from what I'm scouring so far the results for these groups have been fairly correlative to how I imagined they would pan out.

Sorry for this, but I finally decided to do a proper recount, and change my method of scoring (using Excel now), and there were several errors in scores. Here is an updated and correct list, if you have any doubt about your score total, check it yourself just in case. I will do ANOTHER recount at the end of the round to be absolutely sure. The most notable change at the top is Fried dropping down from the tie, and Jones losing one point.

I support a change of colors too though. Even on the default it can be hard to read sometimes, especially the green.
