Well I found this site by viewing wr vids on youtube and one of the users referred me to this site for tips and stuff.

I thought I was pretty good at Mario Kart but now im not so sure looking at this site lol. I need help on how to get better, I think im just a bit more worse than the expert staff ghosts. So help please :'(

p.s. I also need help with all of the phrases

Welcome to the site! It might be obvious, but the only way to get better is to practice.

Personally, I find that looking at the World Record ghosts helps a lot to find the best strategy for each course. Things that you might want to look for:
- character/bike to use for each course
- where to use your shrooms
- how to handle corners / MTs

Also, in this game doing wheelies is very important. That means that when you release your MTs, you want to start wheeli'ing as soon as possible and keep a straight line (steering slows you down).

I'm by no means an expert but hopefully this can help Happy

Splits = the laps you got in a 3lap run.
Best splits = best laps you have on a track, for lap 1, lap 2 and lap 3.

i.e. =

My LC time is 30.00. Splits of the run are: 10.00 - 11.00 - 9.00

My best splits give me 20.00. Splits are: 5.00 (best lap 1 time I got) - 10.00 (best lap 2 time I got) - 5.00 (best lap 3 time I got).

Obviously doing flaps strat for each lap, add those three 3-shroom laps in a unique time and say that is your best splits time doesn't count Smiley

PR = Personal Record.
