I'm still competing in it, I'm currently at 1:04.576. I can see myself subbing 1:04, just need a cleaner run. Are you sure missing that final item box is faster? And do you think the top times may have been attained with Automatic? I'm thinking not, but I'm not sure.

That's a pretty good time, Mengsk. I also got #2 regional with a time of 1:04.070 (#1 regional is 1:04.067 damnit!).

As for winning something for coming first, I think it's just for fame. I came first in my region for the previous comp but didn't get anything, and I've no idea if the worldwide winner won anything either. Some Wii points would've been nice.

Well I did a few things differently. I used the 3rd mushroom on the straight between gates 4 and 5 and the 4th mushroom through gate 5.
I didn't wheelie through gates 5 and 7, I simply drifted all the way through (I would've lost a bit of time because of that). And lastly I collected the final item box, still not sure whether skipping it is faster or not, would've been easy to tell if a ghost could be saved.
