Someone needs to do up a proper list of item percentages for each position.
It's possible to get a golden shroom in 6th, but very rare. In 7th, all you seem to get is Big mushroom and a Single mushroom (around 80% of the time I reckon). In 8th, you seem to hit the golden mushroom much more consistently, but having to slow down for 8th will cost you time on that first lap. For my 29"2 opener, I didn't slow down too much..just let up a bit on A, and I was in 6th.

You need to be VERY meticulous about how you drive lol.....yesterday I got 1:47 at best, but today I made a few mistakes both races and got 1:46 then 1:43 within 30 minutes lol.....I only started using the GCN controller since yesterday but I'm used to it now lolz.....I may end up being on that leaderboard! ......still not sure how that psycho got 1:32:997.....*shudders* >_>

Despite all that both runs had no golden mushroom involved....just remember to turn VERY sharply to cut between the chain chomps and the grass and try not to move much on straightaways...both of those things will improve your time significantly lol

P.S. I'm a known MSC legend and I crushed the Sonic Riders: ZG records lolol :p

I didn't think it was possible to get a gold shroom in anything above 8th. I guess I'll just sandbag less and hope for the best with a 6th place item. Also on the right turn where the chain chomp normally is, is it possible to take the corner sharp on the first lap? It seems like the one chain chomp coming down the middle of the road always is hugging the corner as I approach making me have to go around or I end up in the dirt. I probably could beat it if I didn't sandbag for an item, I'll just have to experiment a little, still have 8 days :p

Well, I've gotten a time of 1:39 around there. Usually, I wait and see how the characters acts get the item box while in 12th place and hoping to get a Golden Mushroom. Then, speed up by taking risk turns near Chain Chomps and then use the Golden Mushroom near the grass after the short tunnel.

yeah pretty amazing time. i hope they release the ghost because i honestly have no idea how he got that time
