"Shy Guy's run made me aware of how much time I was losing around the start of the glitch. The little fence-bounce thing saves literally an entire second compared to accelerating from a dead stop. This is why this improvement came quicker than expected. There is still room for improvement. I made about 2 noticeable mistakes."

WRs are so strong now, the competition has dwindled, and nobody wants to invest the time it takes to beat these strong records or use any of the many unused, luck-based strats. At least new glitches promote some activity, without them we'd be lucky to have a new WR once a month lol. Think about it, so many tracks now need more luck/time than skill to make good times in compared to back in the day. It's no wonder so many players are burnt out from this game. But yeah, pretty much anyone who isn't a veteran or heavily trusted needs to provide proof now to be taken seriously.
