You shouldn't make a big deal about that. Actually, i could quote dozens of people (me included) who said they quitted the game, and who came back at some point. Most of the time people just talk too quickly and don't really think what they say.

To be able to really quit the game, you need to reach a point where you don't care at all about improving / being beaten / reaching your goals (when you know that you could reach them), which is far from being the case for 99% of the players.
