I don't see where the disagreement is. IGN didn't mention the different settings, but they both mention charging a boost by drawing out the drift.

Possibly, it was like that for MKSC. But it will probably vary upon the kart's overall stats, or a factor not shown here.

The Official Nintendo Magazine here in the UK has a review of Mario Kart Wii. If anyone is interested, I can scan it and post it up here?

EDIT: I have read it, they don't reveal that much new information, but here is the most important stuff I gathered:

four DS tracks, four Gamecube, four N64, two GBA & two SNES tracks are included (not sure if this is known already).
The tricks are easy to do, and they can be done on any jump, not just the big ones.
The bikes can only get blue sparks, not orange. This is compensated for by the bikes ability to do wheelies.
Snaking is now 'more hassle than its worth' (IMO this won't be true)

ONM like MKWii. They gave it 94% and claim it is possibly the best Mario Kart ever.

I read the magazine also. When I read what's in bold in the magazine I thought it's going to suck. Hopefully we can snake and make it work better then this long slide they talk about.

But they only play games to some level. They can't play games like us that are here. We will see if it's more hassle or not.

You can't compare DS and Wii games. Want a magazine from '98? Those games got better ratings than any of the games that are released right now although they are way worse.
On the other hand lame games get above 90% ratings so what....

Certainly can't jump very high from the looks of it, maybe you can perform a stunt to fall out of bounds.
