6c) Unknown Courses: (Unofficial names). ~Mushroom/Underground Track: In one level, players are seen bouncing from mushroom to mushroom. This may be a continuation of the Wario Mines level or a new level entirely. ~ Pipe Track: About halfway through the trailer, we see Luigi on a track with dirt and pipes to the side. This may be a continuation of Mario Circuit or a new level entirely. ~ Factory Track: In a screen shot, characters can be seen driving through some type of factory surrounded by mechanical apparatuses. ~ Frozen Track: Characters can be seen driving through an icy terrain with snowboarding Shy Guys as obstacles. It is unknown if this is a new level, a rehash of a previous Mario Kart Level with an ice/snow theme, or a continuation of Sherbet Land. ~ Mario Circuit 3: It has been confirmed via a screen shot that a course greatly resembling Mario Circuit 3 from the Super Nintendo is present. It is unknown how drastically this level has changed, if at all. Through the use of the map icons, we know it is a different course from Mario Circuit Wii version. We also know it is different from the Nintendo 64 Mario Circuit also confirmed present since they are, visually, drastically different. ~ Battle Dirt Stadium: In the only known screen shot of Battle Mode, players can be seen driving around a dirt stadium of some type with balloons tied to their karts.
7c) List of known Go-Karts Note: The go-karts listed here are the ones we know the names of. While some new go karts can be seen in the trailer, these have been intentionally left off since, besides some visuals, there is absolutely no information on them. ~The Standard MR. ~The Polturgust 4000. ~The Rambi Rider. ~The Standard PC. ~The B Dasher. ~The Standard TD. ~The Standard LG. ~The Standard YS. LordTwilight Posted 2/18/2008 7:15:13 PM message detail 8c) Game Mechanics: ~ Multiple karts per racer will be selectable. ~ Multiple motorcycles per racer will be selectable. ~ The minimum number of total vehicles per racer is four. ~ Mini-Turbos are back. ~ There will be twelve player online racing. ~ There will be online battling, the number of players is currently unknown. ~ For offline mode, the number of racers per game will be more then eight. At the start of the race shown, twelve karts can be counted. Whether this number is the maximum or can be modified for more or less is unknown. ~ For offline mode, four people on a single Wii can compete via split screen against eight computer players. So, it’s still twelve racers total per race. It is unknown if this is mode is Grand Prix or not. ~ Coins have been confirmed to be in the game. What mode(s) they are in is unknown. ~ There will be multiple control schemes. The two currently known are the Wii Mote and Wii Wheel. ~As demonstrated by Wario and Mario, players can now do stunts (360 spins and back flips have been seen) in mid air. Upon landing after performing a stunt, they gain a speed boost similar to a Mini-Turbo. ~Players can still initiate a “hop” or “mini jump”. ~ The button on the back of the Wii Wheel will be used to power slide. ~ The Wii mote (embedded into the WW) will be held horizontally, and turning it left and right turns the kart. ~ Motorcycles are now selectable instead of karts. See the Motorcycle section (reference number 1c, located above) for more information. ~ As demonstrated by Peach on her motorcycle, it appears as if more then one costume can be used by characters. While in her kart, Peach is wearing her traditional dress, but while in her motorcycle, she is wearing a pink jump suit. It is unknown if the costume change can be selected by the player, or if it happens automatically depending on the players choice of a kart or motorcycle. Since Mario is seen on his motorcycle in his traditional costume, it is most likely the players choice. ~Their will be a local and global ranking system. ~Times can be posted, sent, and ranked online. ~Ghosts can be uploaded and downloaded online. ~ Their will be a Wii channel devoted solely to MKW.
