You need to hop and drift to the right or left, and let go of the accelerator. Yes, very weird, but you need to let go of the gas while in a drift to maintain speed in shallow water.

Again, land in a drift with no accelerator. In order to maintain shroom speed, you MUST land in shallow water, or on courses like Snow Land, the snow. The farther faced the drift, the longer the prolonged boost will last.

Nope, you need to modify the DS to ZZMT. You can get a little quicker boost non-ZZMT though by counterdrifting just a little bit before a turn. Watch some of Mick's videos, like his first turn on Sunset Wilds to see what I mean.

Get used to holding miniturbos with your non-ZZMT style play. I think you are by the sounds of PC, but straightening after a turn causes the boost to release, so don't straighten to hold the boost if need be. The biggest thing is tightness in this game. Watch vids on Mick's YouTube channel to help you out from time to time. And best of luck! Again good to see you here.
